Wet Wood Cedar Exterior Semi-Transparent Stain is an environmentally friendly wood stain for decks, fences, log homes, and siding. Very low VOC at 23 grams/liter. It's the first stain on the market to use Nano-technology in the Ultra Violet protection package. Colors are all made with trans-oxide pigments which are highly resistant to fade. This technology enables DavLaur's clear stain to protect wood from graying. DavLaur uses one of the highest pigment contents for a semi-transparent on the market, so colors remain rich and last longer than the nationally advertised brands. Wet Wood Stain has many features that both the homeowner and professional contractor will appreciate. It uses technology that enables us to incorporate the linseed and tung oils into a water base. Therefore it can be applied to damp or wet wood, displacing the water and penetrating the surface curing to a long lasting finish. WWS is made of a unique blend of Tung Oil, a very tough resin, that is mostly used in high dollar furniture stains, and linseed oil which is noted for its flexibility. The blend gives the user a product that is very durable that will expand and contract with the weather changes. It has been tested by third party labs for its resistance to bacteria and mold and passed with the highest rating attainable after being subjected to over 30 strains of common occurring bacteria in the US.

Tung oil and linseed may be old school, but then so am I!
My deck was way overdue to be stained and sealed. After cleaning with an oxygenated cleaner and thorough power washing, I applied one coat to the vertical surfaces, and two coats to the decking and steps. I was impressed with this products penetration and even color coating on all surfaces. The deck is 13 years old and gets a lot of sun. It came out looking like new!

Decent Product BUT...
The product was applied with a sprayer to a fence without difficulty and clean up was very easy. There were no instructions about mixing the contents and I almost overlooked doing that until I realized how thin the product was looking as I started. Mixing is not problematic and can be done quickly because it is not the type that has a heavy sludge on the bottom. You should frequently give it a quick stir because the separation within the container occurs relatively fast.Reason for the three stars is that the info does not tell you if it is a dark or light stain. This is a very light one that looks good a bare piece of trellis I used it on. Problem was that I had to put it on a fence that had been stained previously but now had worn and bare spots. It may be an effective protectant but the appearance is poor because there are now two distinct colors and nothing blends. In summary, use it on bare wood but do not apply to previously stained woods if appearance matters.

Wet wood stain is a great product!
I have a very large deck. It was in terrible shape. I searched and searched for a product. And read all the reviews. Most products just lay on top of the deck and are susceptible to cracking and peeling. Wet wood stain was the answer. I used Flood wood stripper to remove the old Silkens. Then I rolled the stain on and went back the next day with a brush to get between the boards. Margie Dove
