Miffy At The Gallery

Cute book, came in timely manner and good condition

Even my 2 week old newborn love it and smile whenever I show him the book!

Fun little book. My grandchildren were impressed they had a book to go with their poster.

My 6 year old granddaughter loves to read the book, but questioned why I would buy a book with chunks out of the spine. I thought that it should have been in better shape, myself.

Cute book. Good for our collection.

Our baby loves the Miffy books but this one is too similar in content to Miffy the Artist.

Miffy at the Gallery is in great condition. The book was shipped very promptly.. I was surprised at how quickly it arrived.

Sehr schöne Bilder. Sehr farbenfroh. Aber extrem schlechte Übersetzung. Katastrophale grammatikalische Fehler. Satzbau in der direkten Rede wie Kraut und Rüben!

邦題は「うさこちゃん びじゅつかんへいく」。ミッフィー誕生60周年に出版された別冊太陽「ディック・ブルーナ ミッフィーの魅力、再発見」で「ブルーナの絵本の中でもモンドリアンやマティス 美術界の先達への愛と敬意が感じられる作品」として紹介されている（太陽ｐ120,131）。ブルーナは、マティスを目標としており、「研ぎ澄まされたシンプル」作品に近づこうとしていた(太陽p59)とのことだが、本書の表紙はマティスの切り絵を使った作品を思わせるもの。またモンドリアンそのものと思われる構図の絵に見入るミッフィーの一枚も本書には描かれている。画家を目指したブルーナそのものが描かれているようである。本書で、ミッフィーが美術館で最初に見た絵が、りんごの絵なのだが、これはブルーナの最初の絵本「りんごぼうや」の第一版の表紙そのもの（太陽ｐ17、27によると、第一版では、りんごぼうやには2版以降のものと異なり目鼻はつけられていなかった）。ファンにはうれしいパロディのような一枚。ブルーナの絵本は、ブルーナカラーと呼ばれる赤、青、黄、緑、茶、灰色の６色が基本だが（太陽p78）、本書では茶色は使われておらず、よりシンプルな出来である。表紙の見返しに所有者の名前を書くようになっている体裁も日本語版と同じで、「this book belongs to,,,,」としてある。ブルーナは、文章にも独自のルールを決めており、絵本の文章は必ず４行で、そして２行目と４行目は韻を踏んで、子供がそばで聞いている様子をイメージしながら作成した（太陽p79）。日本語のうさこちゃんシリーズは、この原書の文章のルールは守られておらず、時に５行になり、韻は踏まれていない。これは日本語とオランダ語の違いでやむを得ないところであるが、これが英語版になると、英語とオランダ語は似ているので韻が踏まれているので、文章を原書に近く味わいたいという人には、英語も平易であるので勧めたい。たとえば、最初の文章のページは以下。 Mrs Bunny asked the others -will you come with me? I’m going to the gallery. There’s lots of art to see. 上記のように二行目のmeと四行目のseeが韻を踏んでいる。

This book is really nice. The story is well written and illustrated. Makes small children want to go to the Gallery. The works of art are inspired by those of real artists (Mondrian, Klein, Magritte etc.) and my child loves it Ce livre est très sympatique. L'histoire est bien écrite et joliment illustrée. Elle donne envie aux enfants d'aller au musée. Les oeuvres sont inspirées de celles de véritables artistes (Mondrian, Klein, Magritte...) et mon enfant adore

Who could not love Miffy and all the Miffy books. This one is a particular favourite. They are all - bar one - a great read. The first Miffy book is rather gender specific - but it was originally published many years ago when things were different. Treat yourself to the box set - you will never have a dull moment

I bought this as a Birthday gift for my 3 year old. He loved the simple story and pictures and he is now keen to go to an art gallery with me again. I think we might take this lovely little book along on our next trip.
