Very good series
Volumes in medium format, richly illustrated, deal with the topic in a monothematic way. In about 200 pages they offer enthusiasts an excellent overview on the subject, even if some volumes, in relation to the subject, are more in-depth than others. Especially if you buy them on offer at less than half the cover price (about £ 20) they are a bargain

What have I missed?
Comprehensive and illuminating. The chapter on CBRN (chemical warfare etc) is written as though there have been major chemical weapons uses in very recent times. I think not - unless I have missed an awful lot of News. The chapter is also somewhat emotional being the common response to a set of weapons from which troops may protect themselves quite easily and hence are unproductive on the battlefield - though potentially devastating for civilians cf the Tokyo subway sarin attack on 20 March 1995, by the Aum Shinrikyo.

Interesting guide to military medicine
As a non-medic veteran I was interested to read this book and understand a bit more about how the medical side works. I couldn’t put it down. Packed with information and photographs this book gives a really good overview of combat medicine; it’s detailed but not too technical. I’m grateful to the author for putting this together and to the people who do this work.
