Killer Audio Capacitors, especially in a DAC.
Wow! These are really nice Capacitors for Audio use. I’ve dealt with hundreds, if not thousands of Capacitors in my Day.I’ve rebuilt tons of amps and other Audio Gear. So I feel I’m pretty well suited to leave this review.I used these in a DIY DAC I designed. I’d originally used some caps from another High End Maker, who’s name I’ll leave unsaid. However, one of those caps started to “bubble” out on the top. Was only a matter of time until it blew. Fortunately it’s in a low voltage application and not a tube amp. LolAnyway, figured I’d better rip em out and replace them.So I ordered these. The Value I used is 6300uf/16volt. Very well made, look great which is always an extra bonus and finally....SOUND AWESOME!While a capacitor won’t make a bad circuit sound good, you can certainly hear differences. Regardless of what you’ve read. If not, you have other issues with the gear.Nice leads, soldered up real nice. Not sure what else there is to say about a ‘Lytic Cap. We all know Nichicon is a dominant name in the HiFi game, along with Sprague, Cornell, and others.I’ve always had luck with Nichicon, and was geeked to try these. Well, not disappointed at all.I stocked up on a number of these in various values. They are now my “go to” low voltage cap. Great for SS stuff! Tubes too!I waited for 150 hours of “burn-in”(which electrolytics do) before posting this review.I own a HiFi Repair/Restoration Buisness. I work on gear daily, these are awesome. Buy em. Cool blue metallic color looks great too, “under the hood”. Not that it matter sonically, but who doesn’t want their gear to look cool too? They could’ve made em black or white. Yet they added some flair. Why not?I’ll spare the “Audiophool” terminology. Lol they just sound great. That’s it.
