Great Video Quality, better than Night Owl OEM.
These cameras are great for the price. I replaced my brand new Night Owl cameras that came with the DVR kit I bought after Thanksgiving. Color quality is better, wider viewing angle, better night vision coverage and clearer image, what is there not to like? For an inexpensive system that is not the latest whiz bang new device, these perform very well. I still have 3 remaining Night Owl cameras that are functional, but have no intention on using them. Great delivery with Amazon and easy install. I am no camera expert and this is my first install of one of these DVR units with cameras, it was easy to figure out how to hook them up, (thanks YouTube). Just be sure that any camera you buy is for the correct DVR system, as I tried to replace the first defective original manufacturer camera with one purchased at the local Best Buy store, but they were for HD DVR's only. Thankfully Amazon had these online for 1/2 the price of the OEM equipment and it is ten times better for my application.

Good for the price
Model # 8LN-261W4-00, the DVR is Model 8ln, the camera set is 4AK-2612B-W (The same one retailing on the manufacturers website for $100). The firmware version on the DVR is 1.0.0.This was purchased to replace an older 960H Zmodo dvr so I have experience with the low end video equipment. I just set it up yesterday, so this is more of initial thoughts. Hopefully I think to update this later after using it for some time. The cameras have a great picture, and the night vision works well. It is probably about 100ft, though this will depend on the angle the camera is pointing at. If the center of the camera is pointing down then this will keep the light from spreading out. I do notice a 'Stutter' on the 1080p cameras but not on the 960H camera that I am still using, but since it is for surveillance not for videos this shouldn't be an issue. The DVR is not very intuitive. It reminds me of old computer programs where everything is done through text menus. Once you learn where all the settings are it is not difficult, just time consuming. But how often are you going to make changes once you get it set up? I also took a piece of tape and covered the LEDs on front, they are very bright. On to the really annoying aspects . . .I have a Zmodo ptz dome camera that I use. This is really where the menus started to annoy me. In order to set up a 'cruise' you have to go through a few layers of menus. Then the minimum delay on each view is 5 seconds. Once you have a dozen or so it takes a long time to get back to the beginning. On the old dvr I had them set at 2 seconds.I do not have a smart phone so can not comment on the apps.None of the PC software that worked have a very good implementation of ptz control. Once I got it working through IE this made things easier. Even navigating the settings is easier (especially setting up the cruise for the dome camera). I am not able to get it working by entering the local IP address of the dvr. Luckily I have a sub-domain on my server pointing to my local network so I was able to finally get it to work using this. Win10 did not want to install the ActiveX because the publisher is not known so I had to manually install it.Procedure I used:Go to the dvr web page in IEWhen the error comes up, leave it there.Search the computer for the 'webclient.cab' fileGo to the file location and open it.Extract the dll and ocx file to a location you can easily find it.Copy these files to 'c:/windows/system32'open a command prompt as administratorenter the command 'regsvr32 webclient.ocx'enter the command 'regsvr32 lib-voiceengine_dll.dll' (I received an error on this so not sure if it was necessary)Close IEOpen IEOpen the dvr web page againIf everything worked it should open.Overall for about $130 normal price it is worth it, if you want to spend more, there are definitely better systems out there.

Buy It. Its Totally Worth It!!!!!
Very nice product for the price. I had a SWAN system I had bought 5 years ago from walmart, paid 100 more for it and only had 4 cameras. But 12 cameras and HD for 100 less was something I could not pass up. Was not to hard to set up, took me about a day, and lots of attic time running wires. The zoom is Awesome, the night vision is clear and works great. Field of view is massive. You can set up to alert you of motion, via the app and a audible alarm on the DVR, and have the system display that camera full screen. We have it set up on our front door to alert us of someone at the door. The only thing I have left to figgure out is having it record only on motion. ATM it records all the time, which is fine, 1tb is alot of storage space. I absolutely recommend this product.

The mouse doesn’t function properly
So it’s basically just a live camera. The mouse control will not function as it shouldAnd has to be restarted ( manually plugged over and over) until the mouse icon shows on the finishing set up page. The whole security box needs an upgrade and after I reached out to Zosi all they did was send me a link on the internet for an external hard drive upgrade. All we own here are tablets and fire sticks. So I’m supposed to by an external hard drive and a computer just to upgrade the security hard drive???!I don’t understand why they’re selling security hard drives with old glitchy software…☹️☹️☹️☹️10-3-24 Waste of money. Software needs updated through internet with a external hard drive ( not included)Most of the time (90%) you can’t even use the mouse as plugging into either one of the 2 usb options doesn’t even register. So basically just a camera system without the playback. When you can finally get past the set up menus, as the mouse will consistently fail to register in the usb. These are glitches in the software system that need to be updated before the system is sold, as none of the software needing updates was included in the product description.Going to have to finally just find a security DVR replacement, wasted enough time fooling around with this Zosi brand.

Great value CCTV
Great value camera for the price point.I had already purchased the Zosi DVR which came with two cameras which, I assumed were identical to this one but they are not....This new one is all metal construction which pleases me but I do feel that the other two cameras supplied with the DVR should have been the same (they look the same but are all plastic).I suppose it's down to cost but slightly disappointed that I now have two plastic cameras and one 'better quality' metal one?!
