Kaffe Fassett's Heritage Quilts

Love this book! Kaffe takes his beautiful fabrics and incorporates them into classic quilts from the past with his own special twist. In the beginning of the book he has the originals quilts from 1800's to the mid 1900's with a brief description. Then he takes each one and transforms it into his own version with colorful fabrics and a bit of his own style, but still keeping the integrity of the originals. Very colorful and vivid quilts that are displayed true to Kaffe's unique taste. Directions are easy to read and also gives you the information on what fabrics are used on each quilt pattern, along with templates in the back of the book. If you've ever bought a Kaffe Fassett book, you will not be disappointed! And if you are new to quilting while it might be a little intimidating at first learning some of the piecing, (which I struggled with as a first timer), you will become inspired by his fabrics, the colors and how much more alive your quilts can be.

Mediocre at best. I'm a long time Kaffe fan starting with him with knitting, so this book is very disappointing. The quilts don't exhibit the joy of his others--just seem to be a vehicle to sell a fabric collection & not doing a good job of it. One of the things that I liked in his earlier books(with Liza Lucy) was a description of the fabrics used which allowed the quilt maker to do some stash diving. I also enjoyed reading Kaffe's comments about the quilt. The comments here are uninteresting & forced. I'm keeping the book only for the photos of the original antique quilts. I hope this book is Rowan's fault not Kaffe's.

KF's books are always beautiful I bought his first four books in rapid succession and they were really GLORIOUS and an inspiration. I think Glorious Color was the first. Heritage quilts is a lovely book with all levels of quilting ideas.

Another great book from Kaffe Fassett...I have everyone since his first mosaic book, and I love them all. Each one is unique. The designs in this issue are amazing. I love that he has taken an older pattern and refreshed it with some new fabrics in a different color way. A must for those of you who love Kaffe like I do.

I really enjoyed this collection of quilts! The antique quilts were inspired and a great jumping off point for the new versions. Often I find that the Kaffe Fassett quilt books are advertisements for the fabric collection and it gets distracting, but this one was very much focussed on the wonderful quilts.

WOW oh WOW! My favorite of all of Kaffe's quilt books--and I have most. His ideas and colors are inspiring! Couldn't let this out of my hand for a few days. Excellent customer service.

I love this book, Kaffe Fasset`s designs and fabrics. I borrowed this book from a friend, but decided to own it.(My book was forced in to the mailbox, which caused the nasty crease on both covers !)

The book is a dream with so many gorgeous colours, the locations make them spring out at you and make you want to make them all

It’s difficult to source some of the material but the book itself is excellent quality
