I never thought that I would find myself reviewing that l'accoutrements that is so often used but never discussed in polite conversation, but alas I am. I had to replace this plastic piece-of-excrement and where better to find that which one needs than right here. I relied completely on the recommendations of others and am delighted that I did. This most closely contacted item is very well designed and constructed and priced very decently for something that you rely on daily and seldom give a second thought to. For those technically challenged, it required one standard screw driver and maybe five minutes of your time, most of which was devoted to removing the protective covering. The surface is blemish free and its heft a sign of decades of reliability. Buy this not because it is truly the right thing to do, but because if you buy any other, you will have only demonstrated the stupidity so common to so many of the human species and you deserved to be flushed away. This is truly a comfortable and reliable and well designed accessory for your throne and worthy of hours of contemplation.

I purchased and installed this black toilet seat in early 2013 and it is now 2016, so I’ve had a good three years of use with it. The toilet seat is in my main bathroom and is used multiple times per day. It has held up well, with only one small spot discoloring under the thigh area.My toilet seats tend to last 5 or 6 years before becoming slightly loose at the hinge, at which point I replace them. I would purchase this exact item again, since it has performed well, and did not discolor terribly or crack as other seats I have had in the past have done.I enjoy writing product reviews since I base so many of my purchases off of the reviews of other shoppers and hope my review was helpful to you in your purchase decision

Product arrived well packed. Removal from box and instructions were simple to follow. Removal of old toilet seat and installation of this new seat took about 3 minutes. The seat is well made, fits perfectly on our modern black elongated toilet, and the seat has a fairly high gloss black finish and contemporary look. Excellent product.

I bought this on sale even though my toilet is rounded, and even though it does not fit perfectly, the 4 well-built pads underneath that carry the weight still sit firmly on the toilet, so I can use it safely.The lids that cover the screw holes, albeit plastic, are a nice touch.While the instructional sheet advises that you clean only with tissues wet with soapy water, as an OCD cleaner, this was not an acceptable way for me to clean the toilet seat of all things, so I have been using heavy bathroom cleaners on it daily as well, since I bought it 3 months ago, and no signs of wear/tear whatsoever.As a 200 lb. male with digestive issues who has to test a toilet seat almost 2 hours a day, I haven't had any issues with the joints / screws either.

Bought this toilet seat after a disappointing attempt with a plastic seat. This molded wood seat is a much nicer quality. It feels and looks nice and sturdy. I like that the seat's hinges have the black cover because chrome nor brass go with the rest of the decor/hardware in the bathroom. The bumpers on the lid where a little bigger than I expected so it kept the lid from getting a snug closure but this had a nice, surprising benefit - when you go to open or close the lid, you're not in much danger of touching the seat with your fingers which is one less method of transferring germs. Plus there's less chance of smashing your fingers if it closes faster than you were expecting. And don't get me wrong, it closes and you don't actually notice any gap. Overall I'm thrilled with this toilet seat and would recommend it to others.

Comfort seat? Well, in a way I guess you can call it that! ha!We spend hundreds of dollars on toilets and they cant provide a seat? Really? Its pretty standard now that they don't come with one or, if they do, its junk and very uncomfortable. This seat from Comfort Seats is very nice! Its wood and the shape fits our toilet perfect! I bought one from Home Depot that was on sale - didn't fit the shape of the toilet and would slam down because of the cheap hinges.The hinges and build on this seat is very nice. Well built, sturdy & comfortable. Like a couple of other posts, mine arrived with buffer swirl marks on the lid. I started to return it, but another poster said that their experience was that the replacement seat was similarly marred - just as the first one was, so I managed to polish them out with a fine polishing compound instead. Looks great, but I shouldn't have had to put work into a brand new seat, so I knocked off one star. Manufacturer probably uses same finishing process on all seats, and what will pass with a white seat may not look so great on a glossy black one.
