QuikClot is a chemically inert material that speeds coagulation of blood, resulting in a stable clot that stops bleeding. While identical to the formula used in the US Military in many ways, QuikClot Sport Silver is contained in a mesh bag so that it stops bleeding without needing to be removed from the wound later. QuikClot Sport Silver is safe to use on wounds and will not cause burning to the wound site, and it can be left in place until more advanced medical help arrives. The addition of ionic silver prevents the growth of bacteria and fungi and is recommended for situations when advanced medical care is more than 24 hours away. Each package contains one 5" x 5" (50g) bag of QuikClot Sport Silver.
