I am so impressed by this set! I had to wash it out of the box because it smelled like manufacturing smell. I was terrified to wash it. But it came out looking just as good as brand new!! Pillow cases as well. I suggest washing on cold-gentle-bedding cycle. UPDATE: If you have a 12 inch mattress with Box springs, consider going a size up. my son's set is made to be a platform bet, however, the platform sits almost flush to the floor. The comforter is not as large as it appears in the photos. It is durable, avoid dark colors. We purchased chocolate brown and any pice of lint shows up like it is neon. go with neutral colors or lighter colors...with that said, I have a dog who sheds like crazy, so the comforter has been washed multiple times. It holds up GREAT after washings, dos not lose its form. Simply it washes well.

I like the fabric and it seems to be a good weight. It is not as puffy as I was expecting, but still looks nice. My only complaint is the stitching on some of the squares is not straight which makes it look a little more inexpensive. I do like the palatial king size. I have had problems in the past getting a king size to totally cover my mattress. It comes in a vacuum bag and is so wrinkled that I had to iron it, but I just left it on the bed and ran the steam iron over it so it was fairly easy. I’m happy with it.
