Love this gyro meat.
Gyro meat arrived sooner than expected, in excellent condition, well-packed in dry ice. We have purchased the gyro kits from local big-box stores and found the meat to be small and thin, so we were pleasantly surprised at how much thicker these individual slices are. Since we're originally from an area of Florida with a high Greek population, we're spoiled to the taste of 'real' gyro meat, sliced directly from the cone. We found this gyro meat to be quite tasty and would purchase again.

EXACTLY like restaurants
omg, this is SO good. I cooked some in a skillet, and some on the grill on a piece of tin foil. The grill was way easier, less messy, and just as tasty. Also I could cook a lot more at one time. This is DELICIOUS. It has to be what restaurants serve. It is SO good. I made gyros with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, feta, red onion and made a sauce with greek yogurt, shredded cucumber and greek seasoning. Seriously, I'll buy this over and over again. Each slice is frozen, then packaged with other slices, so they don't stick together. It came in a box with dry ice and was frozen solid. I thawed some, and put others in ziplock freezer bags for later. THRILLED with this purchase.

As good as the restaurant for a fraction of the cost
Updated after using an entire box in 2023 and ordering another in 2024. Amazing flavor! Tastes exactly like the gyros that I've eaten in the past. Naan bread and Tzatziki sauce is easy to make - just add lettuce and cucumber slices. We cook 4 slices at a time in a bacon microwave cooker for 2 minutes and they cook perfectly. Instead of paying $8-$10 for a gyro at the restaurant, we can now enjoy them at home for about $3.50 (including sauce, lettuce and cucumber). We packaged the meat into 15 packages of 8 slices per package (2 servings) and put in the freezer, wrapped with plastic seal and then with tin foil. A box lasted us a full year and there was no freezer burn. We ordered in the spring when it is still cool outside, on a Sunday - box arrived by noon on Wednesday UPS. It was packed in a special styrofoam chest with dry ice and the meat was completely frozen. Definitely recommend...

Really good!
Mine arrived a day early. The product was still frozen solid, and I thawed and fried on the stovetop on medium low heat until browned and beginning to crisp on both sides, about 10-12 minutes. Tasted better than the last gyro I ordered from our local Greek/Italian restaurant! Enough to last me and my husband for the rest of 2024! 😋

THE REAL DEAL!!
I have been craving a Gyro for a while now. The local places are ok, but they are very expensive. A decent Gyro is like $10 for a 1/4 lb of meat or less, and I'm a cheap sumbitch. I decided to try this and hope for the best. I was not disappointed at all. The meat came well packaged in a sturdy styrofoam cooler packed in dry ice. It was still completely frozen when it arrived. The meat itself is in nice thick uniform slices and is absolutely delish. Went online and found a good Tzatziki sauce recipe and made my own. Don't buy from grocery store. Make your own. Very simple to make and way better than anything you'll find in a grocery store. I highly recommend this meat. It should take me a while to go through 10lbs of meat, but I'm sure I will buy it again when this box is gone.

Absolutely delicious!
I got turned onto "at home" gyro meat when I stumbled across some at Costco. As delicious as that was, I haven't seen it again in over a year.I decided to try this brand after researching different options and reading reviews. It arrived today, perfectly frozen with lots of dry ice left. The meat was frozen, and each slice easily separates from the others. I broke it down into my own vacuum-sealed packages (WAY bigger than the 4oz portions also for sale--amateurs!) and kept some out to cook up tonight. Unless you're cooking for a crowd--big enough to eat 10lbs of meat--you're going to want to freeze the meat.Holy smokes, this gyro is so delicious! The gyro cooks up quickly, even from frozen. You get a nice crispy outside with just the right portion of a softer inside. It isn't like you're cooking up potato chips here. The taste is fabulous! If I didn't think I'd die of a salt overdose (because I'm not kidding myself this stuff isn't loaded with sodium), I'd eat a pound of this gyro meat myself right now.I am sold! You can't go wrong with this meat. Make yourself some easy tzatziki, buy some store-bought hummus, slice up some lettuce, and go to it.If you like gyro, I highly recommend this product!

Not frozen
They arrived in a large styrofoam cooler. Unfortunately, I see no sign of even attempting to keep them frozen. Inside the cooler is a box with a bag full of slices with the top half of slices separated from the bottom half with parchment. No ice packs, dry ice, or anything to keep them frozen. They were cool, but no sign of frozen at all. Since they were already thawed, freezing as they were would have solidified them as a large brick and made using a few slices impossible. I had to separate them and wrap them in wax paper which adds to the time they were not frozen. Its a gamble at this point if they have gone bad and will get people sick. Smelled good though, so guess I am still going to try them.***Days later, I have eaten them multiple times and have not gotten sick. They taste quite good.
