We got this for our chinchilla Pabu. I have been working to switch out all his plastic to metal/wood/ceramic so he can't chew it and get sick. His old wheel we never saw him use it (not super unusual, sometimes chins are "shy" about using their wheels in front of people). It was a Christmas present for him (the kids said he needed one). We put it in his cage and about 10 minutes later he was running it! It spins very smoothly, not very loud, and feels quality made. It's expensive but totally worth it since Pabu uses all throughout the day and night. Thank you for making this awesome wheel!

We have tried a few different chinchilla wheels, and this is the best we have found so far. It is worth a little more expense. I will admit, even though these wheels are really quiet, the chinchillas get it going so fast it makes the cage move (and we have a very sturdy cage too). Also, you can't stop chinchillas from dragging toys into the wheel with them, pooping in the wheels (anyone for maracas?), or from getting it spinning then chewing on it right afterwards. This seems to be a problem with all wheels though, and we have tried to limit as many of the problems as possible by the strategic wheel placement in the cage. (i.e., Slightly higher which discourages the toys/teeth, and a very slight tip down so that the poop eventually comes out)

I got this for my chinchilla and he loves it. It’s not noisy compared to the one I had previously that would wake me up in the middle of the night. Easy to clean and the colored part is also not rusting like my previous one did.

The media could not be loaded. I used to have a plastic wheel, but my rats ran so fast that they unscrewed it. This bad boy isn’t going anywhere! It attached smoothly to my critter nation cage. It took my girls a bit to figure it out (as demonstrated in the video) but all three love running on it. It’s not silent, but it’s quieter than plastic.

The media could not be loaded. This is a big, sturdy wheel. The normal 12" plastic wheels are little toys in comparison. This wheel is quiet of you mount it to a stable part of the cage.Bottom line, the chins live quite a long time. If this wheel lasts 10 years, it's a small investment for the animal's happiness. This is going to enhance their quality of life by letting them run full out and stretch their bodies for as long as they want. My chins are on this thing pretty much all during the night.Just spend the money, if you love your chins, you won't regret it.

I have bought 2 of these, the one I bought over a year ago still works immaculately. For some reason this recent one I bought does not spin as easy as my original one. Other than that great product and pretty quiet for a big floof running on it.

If anyone was hesitating on getting this because of the hefty price, I just wanna say... it was worth it.I've had a couple of other wheels before this one and while the other would sure spin silently, they were way less stable and would bang loudly on the cage.This one not only spins smoothly but it's SO quiet! I could barely even hear the patter of their feet on the metal. Other than that, it was completely soundless! I LOVE this and only regret not purchasing one sooner

This product is fantastic! I had my little man on a wire wheel with connection bars the caused him to develop horrible matts on his back (it's what I've had for my chins since I was really little but please don't ever use them). The thing also sounded like nails on a chalk board!! I set this up as soon as I got it and it only took a few hours for him to figure out how to use it. I almost cried because he could run a a full stride without hitting his back. I've had it for about a month and so far I see no bite marks, scuffs or problems with the ball bearings. The noise level is moderate, only because there isn't much you can do to stop the wheel from jerking around on the bars of the cage. I haven't heard any sort of screeching, scraping or scratching from the bearings, which is just pure bliss :) . I can honestly and wholeheartedly recommend this product if you have an extremely active chinchilla. My other chin has never set foot on any wheel I've gotten him; if that's the case with any of your chinchillas, I'm not sure it would be entirely worth it for the price.
