Libbey Vina Margarita Glasses, Set of 6

These are decent glasses for the money. When I first received them, I thought they were a bit thin and might break easily, but they have held up very well. After about 6 weeks of use, I still have 6, so they are not that thin. :-) I hang them with my wine glasses, and they get hit when I put the other glasses away, but they have neither chipped nor broken, even when hit hard enough to ring pretty well. I would buy them again.Update 3/22/2009: These have held up very well. None of them have broken, which is amazing to me.Update 3/24/2010: Just increased the rating to 5 stars. :) A year later and I still have all six of these and not a single one is chipped or cracked. Really surprising, but in a good way.

These margarita glasses are excellent! They are surprisingly sturdy. They have withstood several runs in the dishwasher without any problem. I've even knocked one over accidentally (while empty...don't fret) and there wasn't any damage to the stem compared to my old set. I believe these glasses will withstand the test of time. The design is perfect and it holds an appreciative amount spirit. I really enjoy sipping a nice margarita with these glasses. Let me share my recipe for margarita while I'm at it:-2 parts 100% Agave Tequila - I use 1800 Silver-1 part Gran Marnier OR Cointreau - I'm still debating on which one is better...to each their own! My wife seems to prefer the Gran Marnier and I like the Contreau-1 part FRESHLY squeezed lime juice - IMHO it's crucial to get ripe fresh limes. I love these glasses. At 13 ounces, they are just the right size. Not too small where I have to go back for sixths, but not too large that I have to use two hands to drink it. The quality of these is good.

My wife loves margarita's but unfortunately we don't get out to restaurants to often, so I picked these up so I could teach her how to make them at home. These glasses are probably the best deal on Amazon, they are constructed of a nice thick glass and a sturdy base. Treated well these glasses should last for years to come. They are also some of the lowest price glasses available on Amazon, other comparative glasses I have found for the same price are either cheaply made or plastic.If you are looking for a set of glass margarita cups for an excellent price, these are the ones. Also thumbs up to Amazon for shipping them very safely!

I agree with the other reviews of these glasses that mention positives such as good value, pleasing shape, etc. However, there is one flaw which for me is annoying and that is the 2 raised casting lines that run down the length of the stem. While holding the glasses by the stem, 5 out of the 6 glasses I received had casting lines that were crude enough and raised enough to cut through even the most delightful haze of several margaritas, and I found myself wanting to take them into my basement and somehow grind the stems smooth rather than continue with my salsa making duties.If you're buying these glasses as cheap, who cares, possibly/probably disposable party containers then I seriously doubt anyone will even notice the casting lines, but if you're someone who's enticed by the lovely shape and and crystal-like appearance of these glasses in the photographs then be aware that you will not get fine quality at a bargain price. You will get serviceable quality at a fair-market price.

I glass has a crack at the base... That happens no big deal. However one of the bases is uneven that shows bad quality assurance. I am going for the replacement and I'll update my reviewer when they come in.

These glasses came quickly and were packaged very well to keep them protected. I immediately took them out and ran them through the dishwasher. After a quick cleaning we made 6 Margarita's. They are the perfect size to hold a Perfect Margarita! The rim is a larger diameter than your typical salter, so keep that in mind. Otherwise perfect!

Ample 13 oz capacity. Dishwasher safe. These are not delicate, a little chunky. And great price.I see one reviewer stated that it only holds 8 oz. Not true, at least the set I purchased 6 years ago holds a full 13 oz each.And if you're into margaritas, I'll suggest you also purchase the Black & Decker citrus juicer.
