Safe and sane with insane fun for kids.
At first upon looking at the box, my first impression was that this was going to be a cheesy toy. Having my patience take over, I proceeded to try out the drone, first, for safety (this was purchased for my 5yr old nephew) and second, to see if it was a cheepy, not so fun gadget. Well, to my surprise, this drone was responsive and loads of fun, and to top off, a very safe toy for my nephew. Very well engineered and thought thru.. One suggestion for the operation manual is to add: "Press on the remote until you here it click" "batteries pre-installed, ready for operation." Other than that, I was happy and can't wait to see the eyes of my nephew and nieces and when this little guy fires up and flies in its own.

Great when it works!
I wasn't sure how I felt about this thing at first because I could not get it to stop running into walls but after a couple tries it seems to have figured out how to fly correctly. My son loves to watch it fly around and it's easy enough to get going. It's very durable as far as drones go and I really like that you can get it to move by putting your hands close to it.Really the only thing I wish was better about it is the number of sensors and the battery life. It only has three sensors, one on the bottom and two across from each other on the sides. I've seen some others on Amazon that look like this but have 5 or 6 sensors so that your hand is detected quicker from all sides.Overall I'd say this is a pretty cool toy if you have some extra cash lying around.

Great for a 7 year old!
My son choose this as his gift that he got to pick out with his own money, and at first, I wasn't sure if it would be age appropriate, but it most definitely is. In the very beginning, when we were trying to initially charge it, it would blink the color indicating that it was charged, and we'd try to sync it all up to fly, and it was acting like it was completely dead. But after we messed around with it a few times and then left it charging much longer, it synced up and flies! And we haven't had any problems with that aspect of it since. It does a pretty good job with the motion sensors on it and is not constantly hitting objects/ceilings and is easy to guide with the sensing of your hand. I would definitely keep it as an indoor toy. My son wanted to take it outside, and I initially thought it'd be a good idea, but then wondered how easily it would get stuck onto a roof or whatnot. It holds its charge for about as long as the description indicates, and when it starts to lose charge, it doesn't take super long to recharge it. The plastic it's made out of does seem a little cheap feeling, but overall, it's a great toy, especially considering the price!

Not as good as suggested by the product literature, but my son likes it a lot
This thing doesn't function nearly as well shown in the video available on the Amazon product page. It doesn't maintain a steady elevation, the proximity sensors only seem to work with the battery is fully charged, it crashes when commanding it to do a flip, and it won't fly in circles when commanded. However, it does fly and will stay airborne for reasonable periods of time, my son likes it a bunch, it seems very durable, and it was only $13.64 after discounts, so overall, I think its well worth it.UPDATE: We've had this for about 1.5 months, and after using it perhaps 40 times at the most, the battery is already so worn out that the drone won't get more than a few inches off the ground even in high power mode. As a result I'm changing my review score from 5 -> 3 stars.

Not built to last. Amazing support!
Updating my review to 5 stars to help the business out. They're really responsive and caring and want to make the situation right! The new drones they sent to replace broken ones are currently working, but have only been used a couple times. I still don't expect them to last as it's a flimsy product and I'm still really disappointed by the 5 min of 'fun' they create. I haven't been able to get them to do the tricks the manual discusses and they haven't been always staying low enough for us to reach. It's fun to watch them fly around for a few min, but probably not worth investing your money and your kids excitement into.---The kids love this thing but it doesn’t last long. The propellers fall off and one of the motors started to overheat and smell like burning plastic. Make sure you clean hair out of it frequently. The 5 min battery life is such a tease.I did like the construction of this one better than the previous one we bought of a different brand that also had issues. These little drones are basically not made to last but it’s a fun little party gift. All that said, I’m loving the support from this seller!! They have a year warranty and are very helpful for troubleshooting and quick to reply. I have a replacement coming soon and I’m hopeful it’ll somehow last longer and I can come update my review.

Hard to learn & Hard to handle but fun to watch
I bought this drone for myself after my two adult children got drones for Christmas. I wanted something easy to use inside the house. The drone was overall easy to set up and start, however the directions said that the drone would avoid objects and respond to my hand and this was not the case. The drone hit the ceiling and 5 seconds later hit it again. The drone would run into the hand over and over. I did get it to flip, but it wouldn't do it every time. I tried to recalibrate the drone using the instructions, but nothing changed. It's still fun to use however, I wouldn't recommend this for kids because the drone will literally run into them and then dive to the ground and continue spinning. I've tried restarting and recalibrating the drone and now just have to be satisfied with watching the drone bounce around the house. I will say the drone is very durable and safe for children due to having no exposed blades. It wouldn't hurt kids, but would probably still stun them.
