Seriously, do not buy this knife, get something else
The sheath is actually sort of neat. I suppose you could keep it put a better knife in. I thought about doing just that, but do not trust the grade of plastic. Looks like it will shatter. This is shiny like a cheap steak knife. Saw teeth are dull. Knife is dull. That could be fixed. But the blade, which is low end stainless, is not a full tank. It only goes a little way into the cheap plastic handle. Said handle is held on by one phillips head screw threaded into the plastic, there is not even a nut. The compass worked, the wire saw is garbage, there were no matches, and the boxbitself says there is a sharpening stone but there is not. This is going back. Various full tang M techs cost less and are much more durable. Best survival knife as such I have had is the Aitor Commando. Seriously. Just skip this knife.

It fell apart the second day I got it.
I bought this after reading all the reviews on most of the cheap knifes on amazon and went with this one. It fell apart the second day i got it. The only thing holding it together was glue and a screw, but even the screw was held on by glue. the little bags came apart in the first two hours I got it. I got it to be my outdoor knife, and I was very disappointed.pros:Its cheap. Its not made in China. Its made of strong metal. It has a nice plastic case.cons:cheaply made.will not last at any abuse.does not stay together.

hmmm...
not sure how to start I have used more knives than I care to count and this appears to be a good item.it is ugly a bit much size wise for a survival tool but is quite complete to serve it's purpose.feels full tang "euro style not asian"blade is sharp enough, compass works did not test other tools look ok.for 23 bucks I would put one in my truck my 4wheeler and my boat. "but then I live in Alaska 10mls from thick wild forests"for the designers I say if is full tang good show put a better handle on it and I'll get more.for newbs, tenderfeet and others who are less than blade experts if you have one take a file and put about ten vertical grooves in the handle to augment the already present grip that does not work well.or you can spend a couple of buck and get grip tape it will work but not really worth it on a budget knife.it is not safe to handle as is and I'd hate to lose a toe on account of being lazy. :>

A good choice.
I was a little unsure when looking over this product, since the pictures aren't that great and there had been no previous comments, but I have to say that I'm happy with my purchase. The blade's length may be a bit "excessive", especially for someone who doesn't hold knives often, but I myself am comfortable with it. The items along with the knife are very good. On my 'first run' with the knife I actually caught a bluegill with the line, hook, and a squished ant. I was impressed. My favorite feature are the pockets on the sheath. They are roomy, but not too large. I adjusted a few things and was able to fit a magnesium fire-starter into the bottom pocket, which made me happy. It's a big knife, but it is very nice for the avid hiker/camper.

Junk
I have had this knife for just shy of 20 years having first been impressed by a friend's knife. That said, it is not an impressive knife apart from the looks. The knife, itself, is patterned after the M9 bayonet and several Russian-inspired bayonets in the looks department. Unfortunately, it does not have the wire-cutting feature from either of those designs. As most reviewers have commented, the blade is not full tang and is held in place by one screw. The blade is stainless steel and somewhat difficult to sharpen and keep an edge on. This knife is essentially a larger version of the cheap compass handle survival knives sold in the 80s. On my knife, the hand guard has always been wobbly, the glue holding it in place not being up to the task, I have always intended to put epoxy on it, but have never actually done that. The survival kit, I took out yeas ago and redistributed it to other first aid kits. I believe there was a wire saw, fishing line, hooks, and weights, a compass, water-proof matches, and a few other items - all of which are junk. The pouches currently hold several feet of para cord and a cheap multi tool. I was able to get a magazine pouch from a Condor tactical belt to fit in place of the camo pouches, but it really wasn't worth the effort. The sheath on my knife has a rough sharpening stone on the back, behind the belt straps. I have seen newer one that did not have this feature.I'm sure this knife would be adequate for cutting tasks and minimal field use, but there are much better knives to be had for the price. AT the price point of $20-$30, I found a much better survival knife with the Rothco (KaBar clone) USMC style fighting knife. DO NOT spend more than $25 on this knife!

Good knife
I bought this for my brother and he has wore the knife on his side for a few days because he loves it so much. The knife is a good sturdy knife and looks good as well.
