It works, but careful on install
The device works quite well. But, be careful during the install that you do NOT get water on the "cotton" plug or it will shut off and you have to use a new plug when completed.

Unique approach
Easy to install and a very simple and straightforward mechanism for shutting off the water in the event of a leak. Could save a lot of money in prevention of water damage. I haven't been able to test it fully because I haven't had a leak but I like the simplicity of it and feel somewhat assured that it will work when needed.

My RO system leaked and this product saved my house from flooding damage
This review is for Frizzlife Leak Protection Valve For Reverse Osmosis And Under Sink Water Filter System MP99.Last time my RO system leaked in the middle of the night we ended up with thousands of dollars of damage to our kitchen and garage. By the time our cat woke me up, because she couldn't get to her dish, water was well into the living room .I replaced the RO under warranty and installed this shut off valve, and an alarm.Day before yesterday, I came home to chirping sound I could not place. It turned out the my new replacement water softener started leaking while I was out. The valve did it's job, and the chirping alarm (a separate item not related to this review) let me know there was a problem.This product would have more utility if instead of the double sided tape, that didn't stick to anything for more than a couple of minutes, it came with suitable wood screw and nuts and bolts for mounting.I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember the product picture showing 2 wood screws as a part of the kit. Mine didn't come with any.I have no association with this product or its seller. I have paid for it out of my own pocket. I highly recommend this product. It is a 10 star out of 5 based on my experience.Next time I install any water system, nothing will be connected to water unless I already have this shut off installed. This should be supplied with all water conditioning systems.

Clever Device
I had a leak under the sink from another cause than my reverse osmosis system and after fixing that I discovered that my RO system wasn't working, although it took awhile since the tank had to get below a certain point before the issue was apparent! Learned a lot from all this. The device is pretty clever, although there is a time delay due to the pad having to absorb water and shut off the valve. Regardless, it is a clever bit of engineering. In addition to replacing this device, I also bought an audible leak detector for under the sink, also from Amazon. That works a bit faster but I can still recommend getting this little guy in case it is your RO system that's causing the problem.

This thing works great!
The media could not be loaded. This is an awesome mechanical shut-off valve; compatible with 1/4" RO line. It can be refilled with 'compressed towel tablets' - I purchased a hundred pack for cheap. It comes with 3 of them in the box.I have 2 of these units. One before my RO unit, and one at my storage vat. The fact that all of potential for flooding has been eliminated to just the "in" connections to these shut off valves brings me great peace of mind - and for a very fair price! Well worth the investment.

Works great - Can use compressed paper towel 'coins' or 'tablets' instead of refills
Bought a cheap RO system for Prime Day and it blew several fittings over the course of installing two units (the first and a replacement). Needless to say I don't fully trust that the unit won't leak or, worse, blow another fitting and spray water everywhere while we're not home. I decided to get this as some cheap insurance.I'm really impressed with it. It installs easily, is very simple, and definitely works. I found that you can use the very inexpensive compressed disposable towels, often called coin or tablet towels, to do the same job as the ridiculously overpriced cotton refill tablets you see elsewhere on Amazon. Because of this, I was able to successfully test it with some actual water poured into the bottom of the cabinet under the sink without worrying about wasting the tablets that came with it.

I used this for my under the sink Express Water RO system
When I changed filters for my Express Water Filter system my Stop Leak valve malfunctioned. I needed to get my system up fast and this was offered to me next day, so I purchased it hoping it would work... and it did. It accepts the 1/4" tubing already in my system so it seems compatible and works the same way as the original valve does.

This little device has saved me more than once.Water will cause a cotton to expand to shut off water.If a hose leaks or comes off, it will mitigate the damage.
