A little messy
This black putty is to be put at the bottom of the hoof to help keep it from getting thrush and other wet diseases. It is a little messy to get out of the tub but once we used a paint steering stick, it seemed to go seamlessly the horses stood well, and so far even with two solid days of rain it has held.

Works well
Difficult to find in local stores, they work well and easy to use.

Effective for Hoof Cracks, Holes, Vulnerable Areas
This putty is a lifesaver. It’s helped my senior horse with an ongoing hoof issue who suffers from continuous cracks, on the top and bottom of the hoof. It’s a little tricky to work with to get the putty out of the container but once you do and roll it around and soften it, it works great!

So far so good!!
I have a TB with crappy white hooves and I have been using this for the past month and so far his feet look soooo much better!! Usually right before the shoer comes out his hooves are a mess-cracks, chips you name it. The stuff is a little tough to scrap out and you have to roll it a lot to make it pliable but it seems to be helping. I’m using it on all my other horses now too.

Hard to use
Sadly, I couldn’t even get the product into my hand to follow the directions. it was hard as a rock almost like it had already set. Unfortunately, I had to send the product back. There were no punctures in the can and the lid was sealed tight, so nothing was tampered. The concept was great. Wish it had worked.

Hard as cement
Bought this based on having used Keratex hoof sealer and really was pleased on how it helped harden my horses hoof, also based on reviews on how this works great for abcess in hoofs, My results on a old burros with an abcess was NOT GOOD. The sealer said it would harden and become a protective seal, problem was the stuff hardened with a small amount making a pea like stone that only stuck in the hoof causing pain not comfort. The product was extremely hard to soften and work with, to the point where you had to work it with the heat of your hands. My hands hurt more than I think the abcess hurt my burro. I think this is a good product if you can apply it flat on hoof, but it isn't the easiest application. I also want to add that I applied the product, than wrap the hoof hoping to make a flat clean seal, when my farrier came, we found that the abcess had actually blown another hole out the hoof because the putty had sealed the first hole up. IF you try this product my advise is to check the hoof after a couple days if your animal is still limping, you may have the same problem I had, if not than maybe it worked for you.

Works!
One of my old horses got a nasty abscess, and the vet opened it up to drain through the sole of his hoof. The vet packed and wrapped his hoof. We changed the wrap and kept his hoof clean until the hole started to close. We used this wax to protect the hole for several weeks until the sole of his foot grew out and the hole closed completely. This wax is easy to use. Just scoop out a stiff lump from the can, and massage it in your fingers until it softens. Use it to pack and seal the hole. Easy and durable.First photo is of the vet making the drain hole. Second photo is a couple weeks later, showing the hole (dark spot to the left of the frog). Our farrier used it after he trimmed our old horse's hooves. So, we're all happy with this product. (And the can will last for a very long time, like years.)

Great for filling narrow long holes
Great product for filling holes, like ones from a farrier opening a hoof abscess (after the abscess has drained of course). Stays in well and provides comfort. Doesn't work as well for larger openings. Expect to need to get it out with a knife and warm it in your hands

Fourmilière du sabot
Très bien pour soigner une fourmilière au sabot. Il faut bien malaxer le produit avant utilisation un peu comme de la patte à modeler pour pouvoir l'insérer dans les fentes du sabot.

It keeps abcesses clean unlike anything else I've tried
What I did was: soak hoof, dry, place on large piece of cardboard(our barn has rubber mats but this keeps the hoof cleaner) let air dry, work with the putty with clean hoof pick to get out(once out it goes soft in hands quickly but it's a rock in can). Then have someone else hold foot when you put it in. It stays in about 1 or 2 weeks for my mare.

It stays put
I love this product, although I have only used it for a week. My horse has a hole in the hoof wall and hard filler did not work and fell out almost immediately. This hoof putty is flexible and does not set hard. It remains semi pliable and can be topped up as necessary. A bit tough to get out of the tin, but once it's out, it softens quickly. A great product.
