Loved it

I have read several books by Marion Woodman. Years ago I had a Jungian therapist who recommended I read them...primarily The Pregnant Virgin and Addiction to Perfection. She told me they were rather advanced psychology but that I would be ready for them. She was right...I have referred to these books again and again throughout my life since.. The Ravaged Bridegroom is a brilliant work...all Marion Woodman's works are as relevant today as they were thirty years ago. Highly recommend. Nikki Danby Twist CBCP ReikiIII

I am partially writing this because there is only one other review - an unfounded criticism based on the fact that the reader (whose command of English grammar is questionable)found it too difficult to read.I read this back in 1990 when it was first published. I am not an academic and I do not have a post-secondary education, yet I found this book to be a deeply insightful and transformative read. It was not difficult to understand at all.Reading this book helped me break the cycle of addictive, self-destructive behaviour at a time in my life when such a process was pivotal and essential for me to move forward in a clear and positive way.Do not be dissuaded by the other review. Marion Woodman's wisdom can change your life.

The writing is often inscrutable. The author frequently jumps around without making intelligible connections between thoughts. Woodman knows her stuff, and perhaps others who have made a deep study of Jung can follow her. I could not.

beware! i think this book is can not illuminate anything to anyone not trained in jungian psychology and/or who just loves to be plunged into and having to plough through 200p of very unclear prose

A deeply wonderful book that I think many ought to read. I will reread multiple times.

Another excellent book - Marion Woodman is inspirational.
