It does what it says
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I bought an electronic cat toy for each of my siblings and my fiancé for Christmas this year. Each person got something different, this one is for my sister. It has the feather hanging on the ball, which it comes with a spare and could easily have other things added on to it. The laser pattern is pretty cool and given its low volume, this is a good choice for cats that might be skittish. Every other toy I picked up makes a lot of noise and I think would scare some animals more than it enticed them to play. This one is pretty quiet, the laser pattern goes all over so it will give plenty for the cat to chase.Pros:1. Rechargeable = no long term cost in batteries2. Laser pattern is good and will spread far if it’s hung up high3. Comes with a spare feather attachment4. It’s quietCons:1. Isn’t mobile; and I would wonder if the cats will potentially get tired of it over time.

Cat liked it but now it's gone AWOL
It was great until it disappeared. I have searched the house several times and can't find it. It must have driven itself to a good hiding spot then shut off

Great entertainment for my 2 cats while I WFH
Now that we WFH, my cats think we are to be at their beck and call every minute of every day. It's annoying to have them yeowling in the background of my calls, but I can't lock them out of the room because my "office" happens to be where their litter boxes are.Next best option: get them some premium toys!Catnip will only get you so far. This gadget however has been awesome. I have it attached to the side of a cat tree, about 3.5 feet from the ground. The laser only makes a semi-circle for my cats to chase because of how it's aimed (it "shoots" through the legs of the cat tree and along the back ledge because they're in the line of fire of the laser!) but they love it. I would say the diameter of the laser circle it shoots from that high is about 4 feet. I am contemplating rigging it up higher in another corner of the room just to give them more room to chase it.The mouth clamp has 2 plastic screws and the inside of the clamp has a foam lining to protect whatever you are clamping to. I thought this was a nice touch, something I wouldn't have thought about before attaching it!The feathers were fun for my more active cat for about 3 days, then she pulled them straight out of the mechanism. A replacement feather toy comes with the unit, but seeing as how I've only had this a month I decided not to reattach it just yet. They enjoy it without.I've only let it run itself out timer-wise on 2 occasions. It's at least 30 minutes, if not longer. I turn it off early because I honestly didn't realize it had a timer until it turned off on it's own and I rechecked this page for instructions.I love that it charges through a USB cord, and I would say I've gotten at least 15 hours of play so far out of one charge. I haven't had to recharge it yet.I think this toy was well worth the twenty bucks to keep my kitties preoccupied and give them a little exercise now and again!

Broken already
I really liked this toy, but I had it for just a few days and it already stopped rotating and working well.

It breaks very quickly.
I turned this thing on for the 30 min timer 4 times. One week it lasted, then the laser quit working. When it was working, the laser moved too fast and non of my three adult cats were entertained. I would turn it on, total four times, to see if they wanted to play over the course of about 3 days and they were just not interested, I think mostly because it moved to fast. It did come with 2 feather attachments. I think the extra one is to replace the first one if it wears out. Great idea, bad implementation. Do not waste your money or time. You will be very disappointed.Update: Opened it up to find that the wires connecting the laser had broken from the up and down motion. Cheap.

Cat really likes it
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. It is hard to find a surface this will attach to but once I did the cat loved it. It turns itself off in an hour much better than the 15 minute lasers. I plug it in at bedtime to recharge it. Cat liked the feather attachment moving around but lost interest fast. I will buy another of these. I don't think it turns itself back on that has to be done manually.

Finally......
Finally, a toy my Julius enjoys. It's quiet and bright. When it's not on and he desires playing with it, he sits under it batting at the feathers. My only problem with this toy is the fact that the feathers become unattached rather easily. C'est la vie I guess. Would I recommend nonetheless because of, OH HECK YES.

My cats like it but destroy it easy and the way you have to attach it, the laser is not so great
I really wanted the laser function of this. Unfortunately, I have it mounted on our cat climber and the laser eye rolls in circles so the cats lose track of the laser when it's going past all the legs. I attached the feather and my cats can pull it out immediately. Not worth the money. I have 5 cats as well. They are interested but can destroy the feather too easy and they get frustrated with the laser.
