TOKINA ATX-i 11-16mm F2.8 Canon EF

I got this for my concert photography rig and I cannot stress how great this lens is. Functions well in lower, flashy light that sometimes is hit or miss even for a 2.8. Autofocus is precise and works very well. Minimal distortion. Beyond satisfied and the price is unbelievable.

I have an older version of this lens which had a loose ring that is now repaired and working like a charm. This most recent version does not have a lot of significant updates, in my opinion. However, I love having two of these, especially if I want to train a person to use one of them. At any rate, you cannot go wrong with this wide-angle wonder, especially with a maximum 2.8 aperture. So far, it is my go-to lens for street photography and other landscape-type images.

I have seen reviews that stated not a EF lense but it fits and works great on my old D60 which is a EF mount only. A good lense for the money.

I just purchased a new camera and this lens fits and works beautifully with the 90D! My primary use for this lens is interior Real Estate photography. The low light range of this lens and the megapixel quality can’t be beat for the price. This lens also performs well for video shoots. I would highly recommend this lens!

El producto llegó con una avería en el anillo de enfoque, no se podía usar el enfoque automático. Tuve que llevar a un técnico para que lo arregle ya que no era viable hacer la devolución (se me cobraba envío internacional para EE.UU)

My 90D would not detect this lens in AF mode even when the lens was in AF mode so I had to return it as I make videos and need AF to work. No way am I doing manual all day. I'll buy from a different seller because perhaps I simply got a defective lens.Apart from that, this lens produces a nice wide image for video with a blurry background due to that F2.8. If you're looking for a lens for talking head videos on YouTube or online course creation for a crop sensor camera this is a solid choice. Just hope you get one where the AF works.

This lens is missing most of the UWA distortion normally found in this wide a lens. Has some purple fringe easy to take care in post. Tack sharp corner to center by f4 to 5.6 for stills. AF motor noisy in cam mike for vidio, have to do work arounds. That done can be a great vidio lens. In saying that I do mostly stills, so do home work first for vidio. Am replacing Tokina 12-24mm f4 aps for Canon. And the UWA distortion is gone in comparison at 1 stop faster just a bit shorter.

📸 Después de mucho leer por internet qué objetivo ultra gran angular me convenía para mi fotografía de paisajes, logré acotar entre el Canon 10-18mm 4.5, el Sigma 10-20mm 3,5 , o este Tokina 11-16mm 2,8.( Creo que el Tokina 11-20mm no merece esos 100 euros de más que cuesta)Había oído hablar maravillas de el Tokina y la verdad es que que ,aunque es el doble de precio que el Canon y similar al Sigma, me decanté por la apertura de 2.8, porque para la fotografía nocturna no tenía ninguno tan luminoso.👌🏻 Después de probarlo, puedo decir que estoy muy muy contenta del resultado. He subido algunas fotos para que se pueda ver mejor.En cuanto lo sacas de la caja ves que es robusto y que está muy bien confeccionando. Lo notarás en el peso ( para tu desgracia, porque pesa bastante ) , pero merece la pena hasta el último euro gastado.✅ Es luminoso, lo que agradecerás en los atardeceres y en la fotografía de larga exposición.✅ Los colores y la nitidez son una pasada.✅ El enfoque rápido y no tan ruidoso como en los Sigma.El “botón” del enfoque manual y autofocus es realmente echar hacia dentro el anillo del objetivo y ,aunque estoy acostumbrada a que sea un botón, como en el resto de mis objetivos, no resulta incómodo. Hasta ahora no he echado de menos el estabilizador óptico, porque lo he usado sobre todo con trípode, pero las que he tirado a pulso han salido enfocadas sin problema. Normalmente lo usarás para fotografía de paisajes o interiores de edificios, precisamente por el gran angular que ofrece, así que los sujetos están estáticos.Resumiendo:Totalmente recomendable y si te convence el precio, para mi Canon ha sido como dar un salto enorme entre el objetivo de kit y éste.Espero haberte sido de ayuda.

Prima di acquistare l'11-16 Tokina avevo già provato diverse ottiche di simile lunghezza focale ma nessuna mi aveva soddisfatto. Alcune per la mancanza di nitidezze altre per l'eccessiva distorsione. Il Tokina è assolutamente eccellente. Mi soddisfa in tutto quello che cercavo da un obiettivo così: nitidezza stratosferica da lato a lato (pari alle ottiche Canon serie L che possiedo), assenza di distorsione (ovviamente se l'ottica è tenuta in bolla), colori naturali, fantastica gamma dinamica e apertura massima del diaframma di tutto rispetto. Lo switch di AF/MF è interessante anche se io uso esclusivamente AF. La qualità dei materiali è decisamente buona e molto gradevole l'estetica.Lo consiglio sicuramente senza paura di smentite.

This lens is a must for any landscape photographer. The quality is very good and images are sharp, this lens is better than the two Canon lenses that came with my camera by far. I would recommend this lens for anyone getting into landscapes.

Das Objektiv sollte mein altes Canon 10-18mm IS STM ersetzen. Ich bin damit nie warm geworden, da es lichtschwach, am Rand total matschig... war!Das Tokina ist das absolute gegenteil:+ Scharf (Sogar bei Offenblende wobei ab f4 dann bis an den Rand gestochen scharf)+ Sehr schöne Sonnensterne+ Für ein Ultraweitwinkelobjektiv sehr flairresistent+ Sehr gute und hochwertige Verarbeitung+ Gegenlichtblende inklusive+ sehr gute Antischmutzbeschichtung- Der Autofokus ist leider niht lautlos (für Video) aber für Fotos völlig uninteressant- Der Fokusumschalter könnte besser seinWürde mir das Objektiv jederzeit wieder kaufen! Nutze es an der EOS M5!
