The very best Henna on the market. Avigal is a must!
I haven't used this natural yet.I have salt and pepper hair and just want shine. However, I used Avigal burgundy for several years when I was younger. That shade is a subtle, dark cherry red, NOT purple. I worked on Madison Ave. in NYC and people CONSTANTLY stopped me to comment on the gorgeous color and shine of my hair. Henna isn't so popular these days. I'm a little surprised. It coats the hair shaft rather than penetrating, it thickens your hair nicely, leaving it with a gorgeous shine. Plus it's all natural and doesn't damage your hair! I'd say that it lasts at least 6 months or more so it's a commitment. The process of applying it is a little messy. USE LATEX GLOVES! Put a cotton ball roll if you can find it at the hairline or line the edge of your face with plastic wrap. Just make sure that if you use a color to keep it off your face, neck and hands because it will stain. After applying (there are directions in the box) you wrap your head with plastic wrap or aluminum foil to keep in the heat. I used foil and laughed because I looked like a space alien! One can go under a hair dryer but it's really not necessary. The longer you keep it on, the more intense the color will be. The reds are really red so if you don't want that stay away. Abigail is definitely the best on the market. If you want to use henna, you MUST get this brand! !!

Henna for Non-Redheads
Mixed this (cassia obovata) with Hazel, which is Ash Blonde, to get no red. Same conditioning as henna, only a pale blonde colour on light hair. Works a treat. It has the same messiness as henna, also time commitment, so if you don't want that, don't try this. Also, pay attention to the included instructions about the shade to use on your natural colour hair and the timing.
