Only treat my dog loves!
Eight months ago we adopted Barkley, a shelter dog of various lineages, he seems to be border collie, but his face is schnauzer or affenpinscher. Little did we know he would be the pickiest eater we've ever had in our family. He is very smart and I needed a treat that he really desired for training purposes. I have tried over two dozen treats to no avail. Some treats he will take, but rather reluctantly, certainly not a reward. Some treats result in him turning his head and walking away. In the latest order of a variety of treats to test, I had gotten a bag of Petzpaw Real Jerky Bites. As I opened the box containing six different kinds of treats, Barkley was sniffing the box. As soon as I got the box open, Barkley indicated that he wanted to sample the Petzpaw treats. I gave him one, and he kept asking for another one of those, please. I tear them into two pieces as he prefers smaller bites. Any time I tell him he is a good boy, he goes to where the bag of Petzpaw Real Jerky Bites are, and indicates that being a good boy should result in being rewarded. I already ordered and received the second bag, and again, Barkley wanted to help open the box to get to his treats. I'm going to order two bags this week. So far, we have only gotten the beef flavor, but I'm planning to try the other flavors, too. Barkley doesn't care for anything that is bacon flavored nor does he like liver or liver flavored anything. We try to eat healthy ourselves and I like that the ingredients list on the Real Jerky Bites is short, not a long list of artificial ingredients. I also try to buy products made in the USA and these are. They cost more than a lot of others, but Barkley tells me they are worth it. It is hard to train some behaviors if there isn't a reward the dog considers a reward. My daughter's cocker spaniel who is a bit picky also loves these. The resealable bag keeps the treats fresh and soft, although I'll admit all the treats are consumed within a couple of weeks in our household. I haven't had a reason to contact customer service, but I did receive an email from PetzPaw asking how we liked the treats. UPDATE: April 2017. For anyone concerned about these treats being hard for dogs to swallow, several months ago the size and shape of the treats has changed. They formerly resembled a small section of a Kit Kat Bar - that is the only thing I can think of that comes close. It was relatively easy to break them in half, but perhaps the half-barrel shape that remained, was still not suited for some dogs. Now, the treats are flat squares about 1 inch square. They are still fairly easy to tear into small pieces if desired. Both our dogs still love these treats and expect a bag in every box delivered to our house. UPDATE: I had a small problem with an order. I contacted PetzPaw, received an immediate response and they went way above and beyond expectations in prompt resolution. I have been ordering two bags of these every month for several years and have only had the one minor problem. Great product and excellent customer service!

I gave my 11 year old dog these treats and ...
I gave my 11 year old dog these treats and it was so hard to chew that a piece got lodged in his throat. We took him to the vet and it perforated his esophagus on both sides. He had surgery to repair the tear, which narrowed his esophagus and resulted in him being on a feeding tube for 3 weeks. A week after the surgery and only 4 days being home from it, an abscess grew underneath his incision, got it drained, but noticed there was food on the bandaged which meant, there was another hole. Because he barely survived the previous surgery, we had to make the hardest decision and put him down a month ago today. We miss him so much and wish we hadn't given him this treat so he could be here with us today.

High-value treat/reward for my dog's training and good behavior
My dog's are on their best behavior when I reward them with these jerky treats. Jerky can be easily broken apart by hand to make smaller nibbles for training purposes, which is important so the dog's aren't receiving excessive calories from snacks. Smaller pieces means more rewards during training sessions. Great to use as a positive reinforcement tool while training and house breaking pup's, too. Ingredient list is short, easily pronounced and understood, unlike most commercial dog snacks on the market. Great product!

UPDATE: Their customer service is outstanding! I emailed them about an issue (my fault) and the C.S. mgr sent me another bag!
The Real Jerky Bites did not exceed my expectations. But then, they couldn’t because after reading the reviews, my expectations were off the charts! I must say, they are every bit as good as I was expecting. When the bag is opened, you are immediately hit by the strong flavor of the jerky. The size of each piece is a lot larger than what my trainer was using. Since I am using them for training, I cut them up and get at least 10 treats out of each one. It’s inconvenient to have to cut them, however, the good part is that the freshness is sealed in until each one is cut. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

My Dogs love the taste
My Dogs love the taste. The 1st time I ordered these everything was great. This time I noticed that there was a white spot on each jerky treat. The dogs still ate them but both dogs got bad diarrhea. Something is wrong with this bag of jerky. I threw it away. Like throwing my money away and my dogs got sick.

these treats turned moldy after being opened
My dog was not wild about these treats, so they weren't used up very fast. Once they sat in their package for a while (3 mo.) I reached in to the bag and came up with a hand full of mushy, moldy treats.

Yum, Yum Eat Em Up...
I have a 3.5 year old Lhasa Apso and she absolutely loves the beef jerky treats. I usually take my kitchen shears and cut the in quarters. We've never had any difficulties with Tashi swallowing her treats. She usually gets like 4 times per day.

Awesome, Tasty Treats!
This is by far my poochs most favorite treat! :) She is 13 yrs old and it's difficult for her to chew the harder treats. They can also be easily broken up into smaller bite sized pieces. They smell really good and I'm sure they must be quite tasty as she can't get enough of them! They also have amazing customer service. I would highly recommend them. It also makes me super happy that they contain all natural ingredients and are made in the USA. My Best friend gives it 5 thumbs up! :) Her mom agrees.
