A very good guide for the collector but not a complete by any means. Upon receipt of my 2014 copy,the first 4 or 5 items I looked up were missing from the guide which I found very frustrating. While I did find a lot of good information, there was a lot missing as well. With all the information out there on pre and post war Lionel equipment, I hope the authors will be doing a thorough update for the 2015 edition.Having said that, it still is a must have for the any collector.

Like all price guides, it is just that, a price "guide". It will help you establish a price range for the items you are looking for but it is not a locked in price. Use it as a guide and it will help you keep from over spending, but remember that the prices shown are only an indication.Keep previous years and you can refer back to see if a particular item continues to move up, or if collector interest in an item is fading and the price is drifting down.Great item to have with you at train shows and when buying on-line.

It's a pocket edition so there aren't any pictures, but the content is widely regarded as authoritative. I tried to find a full version with pictures (I have one from the 80s), but I couldn't find one. This is a helpful book if you know what you're looking at.

I've been a LIONEL dealer and fan. Dealer for 14 years, fan for 74 years. Being a SENIOR, I can't always afford to buy a book (even every 3 or 4 years), but Amazon had them USED. The One I rec'd was in almost MINT condition, and at a reduced price. The book, the service, and Amazon went all out to see that I was pleased... and I AM!

As it says it is a guide and prices vary depending on market and condition of the item. My complaint with this is that several special edition items I have acquired are not included. Other than that it is a good guide.

The book gives you some idea of what items are selling for. The book doesn't list all the items that I wanted it to. The authors should make sure it includes all the Lionel items to be totally worth while.

I realize this is just a pocket guide, but the first car I looked failed to mention any variations (6464-900) when there at least four that I know of. I found several other examples, and I know there are seemingly endless variations, I just didn't expect to find so many right off the bat. Good quick reference, just not great.

If you're into trains and want an easy guide to use to see what your trains are worth, than this book Is perfect for you. I had trains which I wanted to know value and this guide was a huge help. Highly recommend.

As always, these guides are handy and very accurate.
