KnorrRed Rice Seasong Mix Mi Arroz - 1 Box of 4 - 0.59 Ounce Packets

Pay attention to the title, this is for one Box only! I discovered this a couple years ago at a target store and was looking for something a little bit different to do with rice, so I bought a Box and loved it! I went back later and bought 2 more boxes. When I went back two months later, they were gone. And they haven't gotten them back since; neither has Walmart. I don't know what's going on but the spice apparently seems to be disappearing. Even so, I've got very excited when I saw it being offered on Amazon, but were I saw the price, I'd just about died. This is so overpriced to the point of insanity. They are charging 5 times the price for a product that's sold and worth only a dollar and a few cents; Yet I'm paying 7.99 for a Box that's really only worth a dollar and 15 cents. They ought to be ashamed of themselves ripping off people. The only reason I bought it, was because I have a severe craving for it and since I cannot find it anywhere else, I just bought it from here but I guarantee you this will be my 1st and last purchase. Well, I can say this if you do happen to buy some anyway, the rice is really delicious and addicting. it's nice and a twist from just having plain rice. You can put peppers in it or onion slices or dice up some tiny carrots; anything to go with it, if you wanna dress it up. I choose to just eat it per pkg. instructions, with chicken on the side, because I just love the taste of the rice as it is. I'm so addicted to it but sadly I won't be able to order anymore at this price, so I'll treat these packages as if they are gold.

My wife makes excellent Spanish rice, with this, I can make good Spanish rice. It's great for those of us that love Spanish rice but aren't as good of cooks. Definitely recommend this product.

I did a trial with 1 cup Basmati rice (nice stuff), 2 cups water plus a tiny bit more and 1 teaspoon and enough more to use 1/2 packet mix for a trial run. I didn't rinse it or cook in oil first which I may at some point. Too little is better than too much but the salt with my above adjustments was just about right. But it needs a little boost of tomato, will try some paste stuff in a tube, just a very small amount and some real onion, one slice, minced very very fine. A tiny bit of onion powder on a spoonful didn't cut it. I'll keep trying until I get what I want and definitely stay to 1/2 packet to one cup of rice ratio. It's not just that too much salt isn't good for some people, including me, but it ruins the taste which is why it's important to get control of it. Thanks to other reviewers for the heads up on that.Update. Am going to keep tinkering to see if I can get as close as possible to my fav from a local restaurant. They use the tiny pearl rice (see Preferuda here at Amazon) and doubtless steam large quantities if it. Subtle flavor not sticky bit clumps a little. Very very fluffy.though. And slightly orange colored. This seasoning makes Spanish rice just like my favorite Mexican restaurants. It’s fantastic and easy. Walmart sells it for 99 cents so Amazon price is high but it’s always sold out at the stores so I have to order it.

This the only spice packet that I use to make Mexican rice. The flavor it’s so good you won’t use anything else too make your rice. I do add some chopped onions and frozen peas and carrots too finish it off. You won’t be sorry.

This stuff makes the best spanish rice. Just wish it wasnt always out of stock!
