The Consul

Missing a section of the grandmother’s recit and aria that was in the score I last performed it from and from the copy my pianist had from the public library.

I often don't order things online, but I was very pleased with the delivery and the condition that this product was in. The package was delivered with care and in a timely manner. "The Consul" score was rather affordable, and I am excited to continue learning the role of the "Secretary" for the performance. I will definitely order from Amazon.com again!

This is the revised version of the opera. The layout is great and it’s easy to read, however the book didn’t want to stay open on the piano music stand (hence 4 stars). I had to have it cut and bind. If you purchase it, have it bind before you use it, otherwise they may tell you it’s too bend from trying to keep it open.

Having seen this opera many times and having worked with some of the original cast - I find it searing and so honest. I personally think it is Menotti's best opera along with The Saint of Bleecker Street. Listen to it, see it, read the score and you will be handsomely rewarded.
