This is by far the best shave I’ve ever had. Expensive but very good shave. I was expecting a vibrating razor since it was a Gillette. It does what it said it’s gonna do. Warms up fast feels very good in the hand and is very sharp.

I used it for the first time yesterday. This razor is awesome! I was calling myself crazy spending $99 for this but I am so happy I did. I definitely say if you can buy it then do yourself a favor buy it now. You won't regret it.

Don't get me wrong, for what your getting, the gimmick is expensive. Thing is: heating element works. Only takes a few seconds to start and gets *warm*. Feels great (for what they're charging? It better...) and the heating element does have the "practical" benefit of not rapidly degrading the lubricating strip by constantly running it under hot water. I don't need this razor. Not even a little bit. But as far as "spare no expense manual shave experience" this is it. I'm glad my wife appreciates QOL purchases like this or else I'd be in the dog house. So, like many people who reviewed this item shortly after buying it, I too thought it was great - hence the misleading star rating. However - beware! After just 2 years this product has failed. In essence the battery dies and all you are left with is a very expensive handle. Gillette seem well aware of the issue and straight off the bat they offer you a paltry 20% discount off a new one without so much as asking a question. What with inflation you still end up paying more for the replacement than you did for the original. So, if you're up for emptying your coffers and filling Gillette's coffers by paying them $150 every 2 years then go for it, if you're blessed with more common sense then look elsewhere. There are many others complaining about this issue on other forums too. Gillette - you should be ashamed of yourselves for putting a product out there which you know doesn't last. Frankly I'm surprised there has been no class action suit taken up on this.

Okay, let's be honest. It's a gimmick. The question is then if the gimmick is worth the price. From my perspective I'd say no, but I do like the heat and I also like the resulting shave so it's a keeper. I'm happy I got it, I'd be happier if it was cheaper. I don't understand why there's some who say they don't feel the heat or it takes a long time to heat up. I turned mine on and boom it was hot. Bad unit maybe? I mentioned the resulting shave. Smoother than I've been getting with the standard Gillette Labs razor. I don't give the blade on the heated razor credit because it's the same blade. I give credit to the fact that I slowed the shave speed down. There's a trade off for that. If I continued the shave speed as the standard razor, I'd get the same shave but without the heat experience. By default, you gotta slow it down or you won't feel the heat. And by slowing down you also get a better shave. Would I recommend this? Not really. If it was cheaper, sure.

I know this razor is a little pricey but it is worth every bit of it. If I had to buy it again I wouldn't even think about it it's that good And yes I will buy it again Thanks

ABSOLUTELY LOVE these razors. Bought for myself then my 2 boys. Smooth shave and the heated part feels so good. Came with a cool travel case that perfectly holds the razor. The five blades give the smoothest feel when cut.

After less than a year of use, the razor discharges after 2 shaves. Earlier it used to last one week. Is there a way to get better performance from battety - battery replacement etc. ??

The shaving (warm)experience is good but it did not get charged second time.

This thing gives the closest and most comfortable shave i've ever had hands down. The heated bar is a welcome addition with every shave session made more pleasant- not sure if it opens up follicles more but it certainly feels like it's helping! Charge can go quick if you're looking to tend to any areas other than your face but it lasts reasonably long, most days i don't need to worry about it but occasionally in longer sessions it has died on me. Overall, the phillips heated razor makes for a truly comfortable and close shave. Also looks pretty sleek on my bathroom countertop!
