Great Cake
Luscious fig/almond cake. One of the best I’ve ever tasted. It’s moist and without the usual tough coating. It’s there, but it’s moist and not at all tough.Just bought three more.

Great Healthy Treat
This is really good. It was fresh and just as expected. Goes great with a coffee, or alone as a small snack. It's very filling so a small piece is perfect to tide you over and keep you out of the junk food. The problem is finding it at a decent price. Amazon is usually too high, and the other Gourmet vendor does not offer shipping discount for quantity purchases making the total cost too high. Keep an eye open for the right price, or check your local specialty shops.

Not the same cake!
Have ordered this same cake yearly, but this year the cake is dry and parts of it are too tough to chew!!

Moist and Delicious Fig Almond "Cake"
Made in Spain with figs and almonds and without flour or eggs or sugar, this fig "cake" is moist and delicious. I cut it into eighths and eat one slice after dinner for a healthy treat. In Spain's tapas bars, slices of fig cake are served with manchego cheese and often accompanied with a glass of sherry. This was my first purchase of this brand of fig cake, and I would buy it again. I had been buying the brand, Corazon de Ronda, at my local super market, but it is only available there for a couple of months around Christmas time. Corazon de Ronda has lots of cinnamon in it, and I love cinnamon. I missed that flavor when I first tried the Mitica brand. So, I just started sprinkling the Mitica fig cake with cinnamon and was very satisfied. Cinnamon brings out the sweetness in the figs. Try it!

I've tried many different fig cakes...
I have tried many different fig cakes in my life, and though this is not the moistest fig cake I've ever had, it is certainly in my top 3 as far as the flavor. I was quite surprised, really. The only 2 ingredients are Pajarero figs and Marcona almonds, YET the flavor is better than many others I have had where they have added spices. The almonds are whole, and the figs seem to be crudely pressed...I've never seen such a simple rendition, however it is very delicious, enough to accept this idiosyncrasy. The tender care of the quality ingredients is obvious in the flavor.

If you like Spanish Fig Cake look no further; this is perfect and uses special figs and Marcona almonds. Just enough spice. A delightful snack or dessert. Even real ancient Paleo’s would agree!
