Plastic free, fine filter, reusable, easy to clean - those were my main criteria when searching for a pour over coffee filter. I tried the organic cotton and hemp ones, but they are not as easy to clean, stain over time and just look dingy. This one does a good job at brewing a strong cup of coffee while keeping sediment out of the cup. I put it through the dishwasher every few weeks, but it rinses out easily for daily use. Will purchase again if something ever happens to this one. After nearly a year of use, it’s holding up well.

I’ve bought a few of these and I invariably end up throwing them away as they clog and the water won’t drip through. This one - though a little pricey - works perfectly. I gently scrub it after each use and once a week I do a quick soak in white vinegar. A winner!!

I bought this to use with a Technivorm Moccamaster so please bare that in mind with this review. First up I really like the build quality. It is exceptionally well made! The feel is really unlike any permanent filter I've had in the past. I like that the rubber lip is easily detachable too. Next: despite this being for pour over use it, does allow for a really high flow considering how well it filters out particles. I've not had any issues so far with spilling, though I did come close when brewing a full pot with a large amount of filter ground coffee. I think for a full 10 cups, I need to use a slightly coarser grind, but for 6 the standard filter is absolutely fine. The down sides: it's a tad difficult to remove from the grinds holder since there's no handle or anything really to grip, other than the rubber or the slight lip on the filter. I prefer that bit as the rubber can come away a little too easily - especially when warm. Strangely for a coffee filter, there are no holes in the point. It is completely solid, I think this might contribute to a little water retention as my grinds are always still quite soggy when I empty it. And emptying it can be messy. Since there's nothing to really hold on to, there isn't an easy way to gently bang it to get the used grinds loose. I end up having to use a finger to gently scrap out the left overs that wont shift, and then wash it. Washing it you do need to be careful and not apply too much force to it. It's not difficult, but it's enough of a chore that it's something I end up noticing. Other than that though; I find the coffee I make tastes as good as that from melitta bamboo filters. Maybe even a little better. There is very little, if any, dust / grit in the cup. Couple that with the excellent materials and build quality, and all in all it's a very good product; just needs a little TLC on the cleaning front.

Works better than the paper filters. Cleans up easy. However, use the right grind.

I have a Chemex for weekend coffee. If you're into really rich, amazing pour over coffee, you know it's a process and yet the simplest tools, beans and technique yield the best results. I'm no barista, but I play one on the weekends. My biggest complaint about the Chemex paper filters is how they seem to create a vacuum and the drip rate slows dramatically as you brew your coffee. Plus, you have to continually purchase filters. It's easy enough to order them from Amazon, but this filter elevates that experience to another level. First of all, it fits perfectly in the Chemex. The silicone ring around the top helps secure it and keep it from moving around. It's easy to slip off for cleaning. Secondly, this is a double wall, stainless steel mesh. The interior mesh is much finer than the exterior and there is a solid tip, which is also a great design feature. I absolutely love this filter. The flow is perfect and I've never had better tasting coffee from my Chemex. It's truly amazing how much of a difference this makes. There is no sediment, the flow rate is steady and the coffee is fantastic tasting. Cleaning is also a snap. They recommend taking a soapy sponge and wiping out the interior under running water. I tried to simply rinse it off, but there was sediment trapped between the two filters and I thought to myself, oh no... here we go. But magically, the sponge trick works perfectly. Super quick and easy. Rinse thoroughly (of course) and you're ready for another pot of amazing coffee. The Barista Warrior crew are a small business and very responsive to any questions you may have and they are clearly passionate about helping you enjoy a wonderful coffee brewing experience. I can't recommend this more highly. Well designed, good quality and even better execution. Buy with confidence, you won't regret your purchase!
