126 Film Adapter Compatible w/ V550/V600 scanners

My mom recently showed me all the negatives she had kept of our childhood from the 60s & 70s! Although I've scanned most of the photos, how wonderful to be able to get a nice scan from the negatives! We bought an EPSON photo scanner - it came with the holders for 135 and slides but most of these negatives are 126, which was getting cut off if I used the 35mm holder.Just an added detail, the scanner we own (Epson Perfection 4490) is not the exact same one this is designed for, however we are able to start scanning by lining it up at the top of the scanning bed. The packaging even had a link to a website containing a helpful PDF, which also had a link to a YouTube video detailing the steps!So glad we found this - we are enjoying discovering old memories and being able to share them with my family!

I have purchased their 110 film holder & now the 126 film holder as Negative Solutions were the only option. As their name suggests, they offer not just zero but "negative solutions" to what you are looking for.1st their holders are rough and that can cause scratches to your precious film negatives.2nd their holders do not keep your negatives flat for scanning.3rd their 126 holder does not hold the film. 126 film has a very short edge on one side (1-2mm) making it hard to hold (this is why my paper masks haven't worked). Was hoping that a plastic would be better.What you will get from Negative Solutions is a cheap 3D printed rough piece of plastic that does not hold your negative or hold it flat for scanning. Sadly there are little to no options for older negative scanning options and Negative Solutions has taken advantage of this by pretending to offer a 'Solution'.

I've spent the last several months scanning of family photos to give to my parents and siblings when I came across some old negatives of my grandmother's. Some of the negatives were this old 35mm film that was more square than the normal 35mm film.I was so glad to find this for the oversized 35mm film. The tray for the regular 35mm film cut the tops off the negatives when I scanned them. That was fine for most pictures but sometimes it cut the tops of people's heads off.This tray fits the negatives just right. You just have to make sure you put it on the tray the right way. If it cuts off part of your photo, spin the negatives upside down on the tray as the lip of the bottom of the tray is a little wider than the top, just like the film strip. You can see it when you slide the middle piece out.Then when you use the Epson V600 scanner, place this tray inside the 120/220mm tray (the one with the letter B on it) opening so you have it in the right spot to scan. That's really the only need for the other tray. I push it to the top right corner of the opening to make sure it's straight for scanning.While using the scanning software, first select the "professional mode." Once you have your other settings selected, click on the "Preview" button at the bottom (on my computer this button is hidden until you click on it in Window's 11 so if you don't see preview, it's on the bottom left of the window). Then select the "normal" tab from the preview box. Use your mouse to place a marquee around each photo. Click "Select All" under "Marquee" on the left. Then back on the "Professional Mode" window, select "Scan" (once again, this button is hidden until I click on it in Windows 11 on my computer. It's on the bottom right if you have the same problem). This will scan all of the photos separately.Technically, I guess I don't need the tray but this does keep everything straight, so, when I use the marquee it's aligned right. I didn't realize that until I'd used it a few times but I think I'll keep it anyway.

At first, I thought the seller changed the design or sent the wrong film holder. The holder I got has "126 film" engraved in the plastic and two arrows engraved as well. It appeared to be one piece, with a "channel" for the film, but no "film compressor" as it is described in the seller’s PDF (he sends the link with the holder)I tried making it work, but the film was not held in place and jumped out of the holder.I emailed the seller (as instructed in his PDF) and he pointed out the “crossbar in the middle of the holder” . . . OOOHHHH . . . I just gently pulled on that and Voila! There is the compressor! Whoo-Hoo!! It was difficult to slide at first, and the top rail looks frail, but IT WORKS! It works *very* well; thank you, very much.NOTE: with my Epson V550, I turn the holder over and make sure the bottom of the strip is to the right . . . this way I don’t have to flip or rotate the image once scanned. I use the ‘Normal’ preview and use the Marquee to select the frame I want to scan. I have gotten pretty good just moving the Marquee to the next frame without having to zoom too often.Lots of scanning to do . . . just had to share. :-)

Very flimsy... if your film is curved at all.. good luck keeping it from popping out of the tray! Better than nothing but this could use some design improvements. Expensive for how cheap it is. I was able to make it work - but I think they should really consider a re-design!

A lot of work for only scanning one frame at a time.

I bought the Epson V600 to scan vintage negatives. The scanner is great and works well on my 35 mm negatives. But it will not scan 110, 126 or 127 film negatives, no matter how I lay them on the scanner bed. Thank you, thank you Negative Solutions for manufacturing a solution! Kudos! Your frames work perfectly, after I read the pdf instructions! ;)

The negatives don't seem to fit in the holder. The holders don't come with any instructions and, when attempting to go to the seller's web site using the link provided with the product, my anti-virus software blocks it because of an expired security certificate.
