Southern Culture Foods Pancake and Waffle Mix, Vanilla, 10 Ounce

The only reason Im giving this one star is because it would not let me write a review without selecting a star!!! We saw this on the show Profit. After everybody, including Marcus Lemonis, saying it has wonderful flavor, we decided to purchase the Sweet Potato flavored pancakes to try. We spent $15 for a 10oz container which is a little spendy but was willing to spend a little more since it was supposed to be one of their best flavors. Marcus even stated he loved it!!! So....this morning we mixed up the batch following the instructions to a "T", which was not a simple process. You first had to take two eggs, separate them. You then had to wisk the egg whites and the buttermilk together then wisk the egg yolks and butter together. You had to combine both liquid mixtures, mix together then add liquid mixture into dry pancake mix. Cooked them up on the griddle, then sat down to try them. The only good thing I can say about them is they did cook up fluffy. As we are eating them we were waiting for the sweet potato flavor to pop up on our tongue. This had no sweet potato flavor or any flavor for that matter! We tasted no spices whatsoever like they said on the show. Total disappointment especially after spending this much on such a small container. We just bought a 5 lb Family Size bag of Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake mix at Grocery Outlet for $4.99. This bag will last us quite a while and it only says to add water instead of the numerous ingredients like the sweet potato pancake mix did.So, to sum up my review...DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR THE WASTED TIME SPENT ON PREPARING IT ON THIS SO CALLED PANCAKE/WAFFLE MIX.See picture...Go buy this family-size Krusteaz pancake mix, way better!!! And if you want a sweet potato flavor all you have to add is cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice with pureed sweet potato, you'll get the same effect.

Disappointing that the recipe on the back calls for more than what is in the package. It was tasty but would not purchase again.

I have to say I was quite disappointed with this product. I like many others made a purchase in support of SC after watching the business on The Profit. This product was like any other pancake or waffle mix. The flavor wasn't very vibrant as I thought it might be. I tasted no bourbon flavor, salted caramel, salted pecans. Despite there being pecans in it, I barely taste them. My cousin made a joke that the lack of flavor is why the business was really failing. I'm sure they will turn it around or there are other products thst are a slam dunk, but I won't know unless they get some real WOM buzz..Some good points were that I supported a black owned business.. A primarily female owned business.. And the quantity was on POINT. I had to store some of the batter for the next day.

I didn’t like anything about the product. The price was way to high for a small amount. I wanted to try three different kinds, but was only offered in groups of three of the same kind or one, so I chose the one, glad I did because it was terrible. It was the Red Velvet, which was bland, flat and tasteless!

This mix is double to triple the cost of Stonewall, which is one of the best mixes. This container, at 10 oz makes 4 waffles or 4 quarters of a full waffle iron. Way over priced, won't make this mistake again. Taste is fine, but again, $15 for waffles for 2 people at home???

wheres the peaches ? I lot of my on ingead. for a bad tasting product sorry I wanted these to be good and they are not very disappointed.

I made waffles and they were pretty good! There was not a ton of banana flavor, there were just a few dehydrated bananas they kinda just hit you every few bites. Overall I would not say they are banana pudding flavored, but they have a good flavor. I would probably want to order them again because the batter was really tasty, but they are super pricy. I was able to make a total of 6 waffles with the entire package. Not really worth the $10 price tag.

The pancake was great; the peaches were terrible and there were less than six in the whole package. I will not buy again. The directions used three different bowls. Not easy to put together.
