Fragrant and uniform!
Super excited to try the extract I am making in a few months! There were exactly 50 beans in the package, they were a little smaller ( probably because they were grade b) but I have no complaints for the price. The smell was strong and fragrant, they appeared to be very fresh. On the dryer side, as expected and wanted for extract. They were also packaged nicely in a vaccuum sealed bag. I will definitely consider buying again.

Perfect for extract
Shorter and more dried out than others I have bought from other sellers. Wish I'd paid a little more for the grade A beans, but hopefully these will work okay for my homemade vanilla.UPDATEAt first I thought these were inferior, but they actually are great for making vanilla extract, and the lower price allows you to use more beans per container of vodka, resulting in a richer vanilla flavor. After my initial review the owner reached out to me to try to make it right -- I was impressed by that. Here is a bit of the message:"We strive for 100% customer satisfaction and we’ll do whatever possible to make sure you have an appreciable customer experience with us. The extract exclusive Grade are low moisture pods (dry) by design. Low moisture = less water interference with the extracting flavor process. These are great beans for extract. Just chop them up into pieces to increase the surface area for the alcohol-vanillin interaction."After following the owner's suggestion and chopping up the beans (I cut them into 3 pieces each), I can already tell a week later that they are working their magic and turning my vodka into vanilla extract!

The BEST beans for making traditional vanilla, by comparison, by far.
I have purchased several different varieties of Madagascar Vanilla beans... grade A and grade B.I’m making homemade vanilla, and I’ve found this product (FITnCLEAN Madagascar Vanilla Beans, grade B), for the money is By Far the best for this purpose. The beans pictured are the 2oz. (by weight) beans for $40...$38 if you “subscribe and save”. All packages I’ve purchased average 2+ ounces (as pictured). These beans have an aroma and texture (pliable; not too dry) that’s ideal. The vanilla I’ve made with Grade A beans (surprisingly) hasn’t developed a very strong aroma after a month of “macerating” in the Vodka. These grade B beans, on the other hand, began developing an extremely strong/yummy vanilla smell after just a week.(I’m trying Rum, Brandy and Bourbon also... so far the silver rum is my favorite for this.)I’m using the following recipe/method: .88 oz. vanilla beans per cup of alcohol for Single-fold; 1.6 oz. vanilla beans per cup of alcohol for Double-fold. Rum, Brandy, and Bourbon (in that order of preference) appear to be the favorites, but I’m holding out hope that Vodka turns out a decent vanilla.Note: Madagascar Vanilla beans create the traditional “vanilla” aroma folks are accustomed to... Tahitian vanilla beans have a more floral note that may not be to your taste. I’m “brewing” both kinds separately in a variety of alcohols... so far, these FITnCLEAN grade B Madagascar beans are the perfect choice for me.

vanilla beans
Havent used them yet, I purchased the Grade A from this company and they were long plump and great. I thought I would try these for my vanilla, they are 2 oz, however they are very small. We shall see how they work.

Easy vanilla extract… year after year
Been making wonderful vanilla extract from these beans for home and gifts. This pack of vanilla, beans scored with a sharp knife or not, in a quart of decent rum or your favorite 80-proof alcohol, left for a year.Shake ‘em up every once in a while. That’s it!I now make two batches a year and rebottle gifts into smaller bottles when the extract is ready. Amazon has the quart glass bottles and the little amber bottles for gift-giving. Simple and inexpensive, tastes as good as or better than expensive extracts. Yummy.

These beans were ok but kind of underwhelming
These beans came with little to no scent of vanilla beans. Even when I opened the package the scent was not the good vanilla scent expected from Madagascar beans. On the positive side, there was no mold, the package was nicely vacuum sealed on arrival, and the beans did weigh the full 2 ounces (without the packaging) as described. I ordered 2 ounces of this seller's Tahitian beans as well and those were nice extract grade beans with a good scent, although not too strong, so maybe these beans seemed underwhelming compared to those but these Madagascar beans were not as good a deal/value for the money as the 2 ounces of Tahitian beans I ordered from this seller.

I got 44 beans in the 2oz bag!
My experience with the vanilla beans were like just about all of the other reviewers. They smelled great, looked good and appeared to be of "good enough" quality for my home-made vanilla (one batch with vodka, one batch with bourbon). I didn't see a lot of information about how many vanilla beans were in the 2oz order so I thought I would count and report back. I tried to upload photos of my vanilla beans but couldn't figure it out on the Amazon review process. I counted 44 beans and a total of 2.2 ounces on my electronic kitchen scale. At the sales price I paid, that comes out to be about $.70 each bean (all about 5-6 inches in length) vs. the $2-$5 each found at other vendors. I'll have to wait for another 6 months before I know the true quality of the beans, but if nothing else, they were the cheapest I could find anywhere. If you're making home-made vanilla en masse (I made 1.5 litres) then these are a good product to start with.
