New Balance Men's 608 V5 Casual Comfort Cross Trainer

Most comfortable sneaker I ever owned in my life. Of course I’m older now and I never had to buy a shoe just for the comfort level, but still, they would be nice for running, assuming I could still run which I can’t ha ha. Seriously buy them.

I like the wide widths of New Balance shoes. This is the 4th pair of 608 V5 shoes I have purchased over the years, as I these fit me well (size as expected) and are well made and very comfortable. I can always find the size I need on Amazon, so I add this shoe to my cart each fall and wait for a price drop.

I’ve owned NB shoes before. They offer good comfort and support for the price. The more you spend on them the better the ankle and arch support gets. Depending on the brand of sneaker, I’m a 12.5 or 13. I find most sneakers (Vans, Adidas classics, Converse) are a little too narrow for my feet. For these, I got 13 extra wide NB and they’re big on me. So I’d say I could’ve gone with a normal 13. They’re not so big I’ll return them, but I can slip them on without untying them. And even for a big guy with wide feet, extra wide is a little more space than I need. I will say: they’re comfortable right out of the box and I have no complaints. Shoes are something a little difficult to buy without trying on, but they’re definitely good enough as my day to day beaters.

DISREGARD: FLAW CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO USER MISUSE (6/2025 update) Specifically used an impact method to remove dirt & Bermuda grass accumulated in treads. Switched to using a stiff nylon bristle brush and sole glue degradation was not repeated Last year bought two pairs of v.5's purchased the 2nd pair about a week after the first to ensure correct fit (13x4E) Primary shoes, so use 2 pairs a 1 day on / 1 day off rotation. (previously had 2 pairs of v.4's and wore them out over approx 3 years) At about the 11 month mark the soles on both pairs of v.5's started separating. Starting at the ball of the foot. Have used a name brand "shoe glue" to put them back together successfully but the faulty factory sole glue job keep spreading towards the heel. Still like the way they look, they way they fit, and the uppers durability so much so that I"m buying another pair today (the all-white, leather, version). Hadn't seen the glue issue on any comments in this thread (so far)

I couldn't believe the low price I found here on Amazon. I'm hooked. I've been wearing these shoes for years because of a foot problem. No other manufacturer provided a "wide" shoe like this one. Finally, as far as I know, New Balance is the only shoe maker that makes their shoes in the USA. That's important to me.
