Lotus sold me an 'XL' that had a 25" waist. I bought these assuming the 25" was its 'resting' measurement, and that the waist would easily stretch to an American XL (16-18) waist size. Fully stretched, the XL I bought here fell 9 inches short of an American XL. I'm guessing this seller was offering Asian sizing, and that this Asian XL would fit an average sized American 12-year old. After a lot of haggling, I finally got a full refund. Per my first review, they have changed their stated measurements per sizes, but the new sizing info is still given in centimeters, which I assume in this primarily American market, is to disguise the fact that their XL is not an American XL. I just asked if I could now order an American XL, and the reply was that they don't have any. But an XL still seems to be one of your buying choices. So beware. I bought the largest size they have, and I think they would fit someone of European heritage who is very, very short and very, very, petite. The leggings are cute, and perfect for fair haired American mermaid children or early teens to get out in the sun.

I usually wear a small or an x-small but I checked the measurements and was very happy that I got the medium which fits perfectly. I love mermaid leggings and I have ones from many different companies but these ones are my favorite for everyday as well as going out dancing. They are made from bathing suit material to you can swim in them and they dry pretty quick. The best part is you can really move in them, you can dance and stretch and do yoga and feel like a mermaid.
