PENTAIR SHURFLO 4158-153-E75 Aqua King II Premium Fresh Water Pump, 12V, 5.0 GPM, 55 PSI, Multi-Fixture Marine and RV Diaphragm Pump with Built-in Bypass, Quiet Operation, and Heavy-Duty Construction

I replaced a very noisy Jabsco pump with this one and so far am very happy. It is much quieter than the Jabsco ParMax Pro and provides a smoother water flow without cavitation. The original variable rate ParMax was a great pump, but apparently they don't make them anymore and everyone has gone to single or two speed pumps. They have a tendency to not provide consistent, smooth water flow. Shurflo uses a pump assembly that regulates the pressure inside of the pump by recirculating it. It is the best alternative to the old variable rate pumps that I've come across. We liveaboard and use our water system constantly, so I'll be looking to see how well this pump holds up over time.

We bought this for our boat and it has worked perfectly. Was what we expected, good quality, great price, received it actually earlier than expected. So far so good.

This pump is the BEST! Some people say this pump is loud? Not at all. I replaced a Jabsco pump with this and the Jabsco was twice as loud. I cannot even hear this run 15 feet away. The water system will pressurize in less than a second when the faucet is turned off -vs- two to three seconds with the old I installed this on a 41' motor yacht, I opened a faucet in the galley and forward bathroom (which are the farthest from the pump) and one in the aft bathroom and I still had very good flow out the fixtures. My shower now feels like I am getting pelted with water do to the extra volume and pressure. I really like Shurflo products, this is one I would put in another boat for sure. Keep up the good work Shurflo! Update: 12-7-17 The pump starting failing back in September. Now it trips my breakers if the water flow is to high. The motor seems to be sticking. I need to let the water run slow for a few mins before the pump will work properly. Very disappointed! Not even a year. The pump has less that two hours of use. What a joke! My friends have had problem with two new pumps also. Maybe Shurflo quality is not good anymore.

This pump was a replacement for the fresh water system pump on my boat. Had to buy this model because ShurFlo does not make the model that was in my boat anymore and this is the recommended replacement model. I like this water pump so far, but like the inlet/outlet connector design on my previous model much better. The connector design is now screw-on versus a coupling design. The tubing ID has been reduced in size and the inlet strainer/filter is much smaller than on previous model pump. This required major tubing hookup installation modifications. If this pump continues to operate with no problems for the next 10 years, I will be very pleased with this new fresh water system pump.

pump works real well, had a 3.0 and replaced it with the 5.0. Lot more water pressure and volume.

Good pump but needed to purchase adapter parts to install

We purchased this pump to replace an older identical brand and gpm flow pump in May of 2022, 18 months later it has stopped working. I have attempted to contact the support in the Amazon website, however it is listed as only for EU customers?

I installed the pump last week and within 4hours it started leaking at the seal. I replaced it with another pump and no more leaking.

Great pressure while it lasted, and not too loud. But it has broken down 15 months after installation. Later - I am not technical but have now reviewed the forums about this pump (getting hold of shurflo customer service was nigh on impossible. The problem I have is common with these pumps. It is a pressure switch which is not designed for the purpose, which fails after a time. It is evident this has been a problem for many years with this pump. Many people report having told Shurflo about it, but still they don't fix the problem, preferring to allow customers to suffer the breakdown 1-2 years after the purchase, safely outside the warranty. This is bad enough, but these pumps are fitted to boats that cross seas - you can't phone a plumber from the middle of the atlantic. A disgraceful attitude. Don't buy this pump. I have downgraded my score to the minimum.
