It seems like the max height a pump can deliver is related to the volume it can deliver. I needed a low volume pump that could lift 6 ft for my tower hydroponic garden. I took a chance on this and it delivers, I am pumping about 5 1/2 feet and it might be a little more volume than I want.

I purchased this pump for a 3 tier fountain I have in my back yard. When the pump is not plugged it works very well; however, it is usually plugged. Any small amount of leaves will plug it to nearly a STOP. I cannot recommend this pump for anyone who has an outdoor pond/fountain. One good thing is that even though it plugs easily, it is also easy to clear away debris from the intake.

1. The mechanism that controls the flow of water is ineffective. It is always on full flow2. The actuator for the mechanism that controls the flow of water is difficult to adjust and requires visual inspection to set it according to the minimum flow.My opinion is that a simple device such as this pump should be adjustable in the dark and without actually looking at it. This fails both criteria. I am buying a different design to replace it.

I bought this pump as a replacement for a cheaper pump that had been continually giving me problems and failing as my top off pump for my 180 gallon saltwater aquarium. This pump did NOT disappoint. It comes with multiple adapters to fit pretty much any hose size for a pump of it's size (I used the smallest provided which fit my plastic tube). It comes with 4 suction cups already attached, and two replacement. Also, it's great that it has an adjustable flow valve as the full stream was a bit too much for my needs, but half flow was just right. I couldn't recommend this pump kit more highly for someone who needs a pump for a water top of set up for their aquarium.

I bought this as a replacement for a smaller pump in a backyard fountain but when I opened the box realized that maybe I had bought too big a pump. But we had another fountain that was under-powered so I put this pump in that fountain and brought it to life like never before. Works great. Great price and certainly a good value. But check the size you need. This one is too big for installations where you have a small pump you are replacing.

Purchase this pump in January of this year 2021. It has been very noisy from the start and the flow difficult to gauge. This pump stopped working less than 6 months of use. What is the warranty?(Update: I was contacted by Amazon and only offered a $5 promotional credit.)(Update 7/11/2022: Purchased another pump that lasted me only a year. Disappointed.)

I bought this submersible pump to replace one in a "bubbler" fountain . The old one was rates 165 gph, this new one at 400 gph, but rate adjustable I installed it and adjusted it to provide the same amount of bubbling. Works great! And the price was $16...a great deal

Very strong pump, a bit noisy but ok for outdoor.
