Looks better than it works
I was looking for a 2 wide x 2 high winder to keep my 4 mechanical watches on my nightstand. This seemed to be perfect: beautiful styling and finish, multiple TPD settings, all 3 turn direction settings, and bonus features like a door switch and a cool blue LED backlight. But after a week it is going back. The main reason is the watch cushions. They are vey awkward to use with watches, compared to the ones in e.g. the Brookstone winders. They're shaped like flattened eggs, and your watches wrap around the "points" while the rounded sides squeeze into the winder slots. This makes them very long, and thus difficult to fasten a watch band around. Worse, there isn't enough tension to hold the cushions in the slots, so heavier watches (like my Seiko Prospex) fall out after just a few turns. It is no good at all to have my precious mechanical timepieces FALL out of the winder onto the table, the ground, etc.!Other issues - and I can't tell if these are defects are design flaws - are the door and light switches. There's a switch in the door to stop the winders when open, and restart when shut; there's a "1/0" switch on the back to (de)activate this feature. When active, opening the door stops the winders, but shutting the door may or may not - at random - restart the winders.Related to this, the LED backlight light for some reason turns itself ON when the above feature is on and the door is shut. This happens regardless of the position of the the LED light's on "1/0" switch.I had high hopes for this one, but in the end I'm going back to my Brookstone quad-winder. It isn't as fancy, but it's cheaper, more reliable, and it securely holds every one of my watches.
