Good customer service / Nicely designed
Nice clear well laid out display. Good accurate radio controlled time. Temperature is accurate based on other instruments. Slightly tricky initial setup: need to follow the instructions carefully. If setting to 24hour format it is necessary to follow the instructions given in the Q&A on the Amazon page.My display gradually faded over about 6 months such that it was difficult to read, but TimesLink replaced the unit very quickly.Best looking of any of the weather stations that I have seen on Amazon.

Super bright LED panel failed after 4 months.
A nice product but lcd display is unreadable after 4 months use.Running on batteries the display is readable but quite dim. When i purchased Jan 21 it and plugged it in it was great. Bright clear display readable in daylight on my desk. Now its very dim. unreadable in normal day light , fine if you are in bedroom in pitch darkness and dont like being disbursed by light.Sadly dont buy. Stick with LCD.No reply from cs support email on Youshiko website.

Initially great but soon the display will die on you.
UPDATE: After about 8 months the display had dimmed to virtually being off and completely unreadable. Looks like it’s a common fault and one so important that I have to adjust my score accordingly. This is a shame because it worked well for the first few months but an expensive device that won’t even last the year cannot be something worth recommending imo.ORIGINAL REVIEW:First off no this isn’t as precise as a professional station with an external weather doodah to measure wind velocity and all that jazz, but for something that’s quick and easy to setup and use it’s great. My bedroom clock display had dimmed to being almost unreadable and my internal/external thermometer had also died, so I thought I’d kill 2 birds with one stone and buy this.I needed to have a backlight or an LED display that I could easily see from across the room at night with the lights off. Many of these devices are battery powered only and will temporarily light up when physically touched, but this being adapter mains powered will stay lit up all the time. It’s also not too bright so you can see your room from space (which lots of electronics seem to do nowadays). The display is extremely easy to read and the most prominent numbers are of the clock - perfect. It’s also easy to read head on and also at a slight angle. I like the fact it gives you a lot of information at a glance. The external sensor runs off 2 AAA batteries (not included) and you’re meant to place it outside in a sheltered area out of direct sunlight or direct rain (I put mine in the eaves at the front of the house where it was relatively dry even when raining).Going back to the display:Time and date is displayed bottom right and is always accurate as it gets its data from the atomic clock signal on Cumbria (UK, not Germany - make sure the product you buy uses or MSF system not their DCF one).It takes a few minutes to get a lock and then it will always be accurate, even auto detecting DST for you.The bottom left shows you moon phase (which most stations do) but also moon rise/moon set/sun rise/sun set times based on your city location (which not many stations do).The problem is if you don’t happen to live in that city you have to remember to adjust a few minutes here and there based on where you actually are instead (for instance use Google to compare sunrise times with your location and the nearest selectable city eg London - if there is a 3 min difference between your actual location and London’s sunrise times just add 3min to the London time the display is showing you). The upper left shows weather forecast and atmospheric pressure based on your altitude (again, Google to get accurate road surface altitude where you live above sea level and then remember to add height of where you placed the sensor as that’s what’s measuring the pressure).Upper right is the internal and external temps and humidity with a little graphic to indicate wether it’s comfortable or not (humid/dry).Again, yes that’s of a lot of information but it’s displayed in an easy to read format and is not too bright even at night.Total set up time was about 5 min and it does everything I need.Overall very happy with it and would give it top marks.

Second Youshiko product with timing problems
I bought this to replace an older Youshiko product that had failed. This one is a higher specification and more expensive unit.First the display is clear and easy to read, but if you have it above eye level it appears dim. It is configured for wall mounting but due to the battery compartment it is still tilted backwards if mounted on the wall which does not help the readability. I have cured that by making a stand to keep it upright. However today this unit developed the same issue as the previous unit. Although it still says it is set for Bristol, it has today (29th December) decided to take an hour off the time. It is like it thinks it is receiving European time and has taken an hour off. I have only had the unit for one month and nine days. I assume the options are to completely reset the unit and set it up all over again, which I don’t fancy doing every month, or to do the same as I did with the previous unit which is to switch to manual time.Of course having had it a month the packaging is gone so it can’t be returned. I assume that since this is the second unit both by Youshiko but different types and with the same timing issue this is not a fault but a design flaw.Everything else about the unit, barometric pressure and receiving data from the outside sensor is working for now, the date, sunrise/sunset and moonrise/moon set are correct, the moon phase is odd, the designers have not compensated for the fact the display is black, so the white part of the moon disc is the part that is NOT illuminated so the display shows the moon as a black disc when it is full and a white disc when it is new!It does the job I want but it is not a brand I will ever buy again.

Very poor customer service - little help - assume customer fault!
The weather station works well and good value until something goes wrong!Their customer service is curt and assumes problem caused by customer behaviour. One outside sensor provided which measures outside temperature , but it comes with the warning to set up ‘ outside in a sheltered space to avoid direct rain and direct sunshine for best results’. Despite having done this as instructed by the company the sensor has failed, but Youshiko will not replace the sensor or repair it even though the weather staton is still in warranty. All they will do is suggest I buy a new sensor, which costs two thirds of the cost of a new station! Buyer beware, and hope that your outside sensor can cope with British weather.

Well made, good value.
Easy to set up, easy to read the display.A surprising feature & To be precise,,you will need to add elevation above sea level of your location for the Barometric pressure readout to be accurate.

me decepciono mucho.-
