Works For Deer
Update 2025: This repellent continues to be my go to for Bambi-proofing my yard. Just ordered more for this year. It works great, but will always have to re-apply it after it rains. Less often in the heat of summer as it tends to last longer with climate change temps. Nothing touches what's been sprayed. Not a nibble, not a hoof print left behind, nothing. The deer know.Upping my review to 5 stars because after all these years of using this, this repellent continues to do what it's supposed to without the price going up. Thank you to the manufacturer!!OG Review: I've had ongoing problems with deer eating my hostas. That seems to be their absolute favorite thing. The last few years, they've turned my yard into an eat-it-all salad bar, meaning they're now eating plants they've never touched before. This year they pruned every single bud and flower from my day lily bed. About 150 flowers and buds gone in one night. Grrrr. I almost went out and bought a shotgun.Long story short, this repellent has been pretty good about deterring them. It gets 4 stars simply because I have to reapply it at least twice a week and right after it rains. It is not rain proof, nor does it last longer than 4-5 days. It doesn't completely stop them either. They still nibble on things and do minimal damage, almost as if they're checking to see if I forgot to spray. I'm mixing up strong batches and spraying everything that might be tempting to them to deter their sampling. I think part of having success with this spray is consistently spraying and starting off in the early spring with it. The deer sort of learn what's been sprayed. If I miss even one hosta, believe me, that's the one that gets eaten!!In addition to this repellent, I've put up deer fencing around the veggie garden and I have my wildflower garden covered with netting stretched out over rebar. There's simply too much to spray. I also purchased some of those blinking red lights (Predators Eye) because it often rains here in the middle of the night and by morning, everything gets clipped right down to the stems. It's insane I have to go through this much trouble, but I guess that's the trade off for living away from urban areas.Side note....this does not work on dogs, raccoons, cats, squirrels or possums. This repellent works best by spraying it on things that are being eaten by animals, not as a barrier to keep animals out of particular areas.

working almost too well...good reviews but words of caution
No doubt this stuff at least initially works like a charm, but I do have some cautions to share from my mistakes. Ok, 9 out of 10 of you will read this review and go well, duh lady. This review is for the tenth person who may be overeager, overly efficient or just trying to get stuff done in the five minutes they have without a preschooler clinging on to them.I haven't had this stuff down for more than three hours but let me tell you the dogs in the neighborhoor were howling after my overdose application and there has not been a squirrel, chipmunk or bird in my yard for over 3 hours--and that is a really big deal because usually it looks like a wildlife sanctuary. While I did have good enough logic to wear gloves and do this application on a day with a gentle breeze when the neighbors would not be home, I did overdo it a little. When you first apply the stuff it smells like garlic and hot pepper wax, not appealing but tolerable and you become immune to the odor as you apply it pretty quickly. It takes a few minutes for the true sulfury stench of rotten eggs to kick in (about the time it took me to give a very healthy dose to all my gardens and the permiter of my lawn and in every chipmunk, vole hole in the yard.) Had I known how revolting that kick up smell would have been I probably would have done the yard in small doses instead of one kill. Also, despite wearing gloves it got on me just a little as I sprayed. One hour later and four shampoos I can still smell the stuff in my hair. So here are my aftermath probably obvious words of wisdom1. If you need to apply alot or have close neighbors. If you value your neighbors wait until they are not home or at least warn them.2. A little at a time is a better way to go3. Don't do this when you need close human contact with someone, like before a big party or a job interview.4. Wear clothes you can burn or bleach the stink out of and wear a hat and put long hair back.5. If there are any wild animals you actually like in your yard keep this stuff clear from them (i.e. a pet bunny or birds you feed)--My indoor hamster seems pretty on edge.6. This might actually repel bigger animals like your cat or dog, as it definitely upset the neighbors dog who was a good 3,000 square feet away.7. Keep the windows closed and do this on a day where there is a light breeze so it doesn't permeate for long. So, after about an hour the yucky smell is gone and there are still no animals who dare enter my yard and honestly even if I have to apply it (a little at a time) on the real problem areas several times over the summer I will be a very happy camper. Also delighted that the stuff is organic so while the neighbors dogs won't be visiting my yard anytime soon, if they do I won't be hurting them.Follow Up: This stuff does need to be applied again after a heavy rain. It seems to have the longest impact on things like pea plants or that an animal would actually try to eat. This isn't a miracle in all regards but I still contend its one of the best offerings on the natural side that I have ever tried and the first few days it certainly has a huge impact.

Product works as advertised
This product was effective to chase a ground hog away, but not quite as effective with rabbits. You must spray multiple times, dusk seemed to be the best time.

Buyer Beware!!
Unfortunately, I do not have a good review of this item. When I received it I was excited to use it as we have a band of squirrels that are eating up the flowers and trashing the porch, and I thought this product would be the answer to that problem. Well, I sprayed it on the rail of the porch and the smell nearly chased us away, let alone the animals. Then before we knew it the porch rail was covered with flies! I don't think I've ever seen that many flies all group together. It was horrible. We were so grossed out by it I immediately had to spray insect spray on top of that. Then I had To burn calendula torches to get rid of both the smell of the Animal repellent spray and the raid. And after all of that, I realize all I needed was essential oil and possibly a torch🤷🏽♀️🤦🏾♀️ I was instantly over it. Unless you like swarms of flies, do not buy this spray. The smell alone will make you run away. I return this immediately. I have so many bad things to say I can't stop saying bad things about it. The pic I submitted with this review is one small section of the porch rail that was covered in flies Where I had sprayed that animal repellent. I wanted to give this no stars, but I have to give it at least one star in order to submit this review.
