I’m reviewing my board after a little less than a month of regular use, right after my first oiling.I bought the Artisan Board, which is beautiful aesthetically, well thought out, and very, very sturdy. I appreciate the deep juice grooves, as well as the “pockets” on the other side. I like using the pockets for different vegetables and spices, my partner likes them for separating the scraps while he’s prepping. I also appreciate how there are feet on both sides - the lack of slippage really differentiates the experience, and I like that it’s elevated just a little bit off of the countertop.It also feels really sturdy and premium - the wood feels smooth and nice to touch, and it’s got a nice heft to it. (Unfortunately, it’s a little too hefty for me to hold one handed comfortably, if that’s important to you).Their customer service is also amazing. As I’ve mentioned, this is review is coming after almost a month of use. I first ordered the board two months ago, so the board is definitely out of an Amazon return period by the time I oiled it and inspected it thoroughly. While oiling it, I realized that the board had some small defects - nothing that had affected me during use, but enough that I was concerned about it and sent an email about it.Tiffany, the co-founder, emailed me within 9 minutes of my email at almost midnight PST on a Sunday. I hadn’t expected a response until at least the next day, maybe even later. She was amazingly gracious and focused on customer satisfaction, and very responsive during our email chain (everything was resolved within a few hours of my initial email). She also checked to make sure that the type of oil I was using was suitable for the board. To be honest, I’m usually not the type to leave a review, but I was so impressed by her and Sonder LA that I wanted to make sure other people knew.I will definitely be recommending this brand in the future to anyone looking for a premium yet relatively affordable cutting board.

By far the MOST for your money!Multiple reasons:DESIGN-- they really didn't leave anything out from a design standpoint. The edges are smooth. The whole board is well sanded down. The drip wells are deeply routed and seemingly can hold up to 10+ ounces of liquid. The 3 food pockets on the other side of the board are smooth and well placed. A flip of the board towards you and it's set perfectly with those 3 pockets right on top of the board for easy separation of ingredients. The rubber feet are nearly slide proof and hold very well. Also they're removable which is a great design. The handles are on the smaller side but effective handles. The board came well oiled and the packaging was second to none. The custom box was lined with a foam rubber that protects it throughout delivery. Care instructions were included. There is a year defect warrantee. This is a fantastic cutting board by design. And this board is easy on your expensive chef knives.Finding a con is difficult although if you're not into heavy boards this may be on the heavy side. Remember it's a large board made of oiled teak. That adds up. But it isn't too heavy to really downgrade the rating in my opinion.PRICING: the combination of this board made with teak wood, the size(16"×13"×1.5"), the great design quality, superior packaging, fast shipping, small business support, all add up to a rock solid deal overall. You'll be spending far more for this much design and type of wood. I was looking for a long time until I found this beauty!

I did a lot of research before ordering. Loved the fact that Sonder was a small, couple run business and read nothing but great reviews before ordering. Unfortunately my board came in not the ideal condition. Instead of coming to Amazon to bash them I contacted them directly to make things right and was almost immediately contacted by one of the founders! Her customer service was over-the-top! SUPER responsive and within a couple of days my replacement was on my doorstep and it. is. GORGEOUS! Already used a couple of times and its sturdy, functional and beautiful. Just cant bring myself to put it away and immediately became part of my kitchen decor. Main reason I was looking for a new cutting board was the juice groove on my existing one is pretty much worthless. Any time I would reverse-sear steaks and pour the sear butter over them it would overflow and flood my counter with grease. Not here! The juice groove is deep, plenty enough to catch just about anything you put on it. The reverse side is super functional to hold your veggie prep and I'm sure it will make a gorgeous serving platter. If you're looking for a form and function board, look no further! AMAZING product, even more AMAZING people!
