I got this for an out of town hospital stay where I want to have some items with me (phone/laptop), but would also like to have them when I leave. I figure I can lock my hardside carry-on and secure it to my bed or other furnishings for when I sleep w/o having any arguments about keeping a key on my person. Will also be good for pool/beachside bag, outdoor festivals, ect. This is a light weight (aluminum?) carabiner combination lock paired with a plastic coated thin gauge wire cable and combination luggage lock. these are perfect for securing your belongings against casual pilfering by opportunistic thieves. These are NOT heavy duty security items suitable for securing your helmet/gear for overnight/long-term unsupervised storage. Bring it inside. The whole set weighs 92 grams (approx 3.25 zo.) and the wire w/o plastic is about 1/16in., or 16 gauge wire.

This lock is nothing exactly what one should expect for the price. It will indeed lock itself in place and keep your helmet safe. Unless the alleged thief is armed with tools, in which case, don't expect anything crazy. The lock will deter regular normal people who may have had a quick thought to swipe and run. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the instruction were very unclear on how to change the combination from 0-0-0. It took me quite a while to figure that out. Otherwise, this lock is pretty much what I expected. It will do the job. I would buy again and would also recommend to a friend.

We bought this for locking snowboards when we eat lunch on the hill. Haven't tried it yet, but it seems like a reasonable way to deter thieves from just picking up a board and running off with it. I had a cable lock for skiing years ago that was bulky and a pain to use, so I'm hoping this is better. The cable on this is realistically only about 4 feet long because of the tight coil, which is a little annoying but tolerable. Mayneed to buy a 2nd one for the children's boards since I'm not sure we can do all 4 with one.

It is somewhat lighter and thinner wire than I was expecting. The carabiner lock work ok, although I had some difficulties setting up the combination... then the smaller lock is where I see the gap when locked. I could yank the wire off when locked somewhat easily. So I won’t be relying on the small lock... but use the wire and carabiner to lock my other lock box to keep my car key while surfing. On the other hand, lighter lock can be a good thing for hiking.

Interesting concept. However:1. The small lock actually opened a little when locked and could easily be forced enough to get the cable out with just regular finger strength so it's useless.2. Although it says the flexible cable is a full 128cm (50 inches) that is the length of the straight (uncoiled) cable. In practice, I was unable to extend it beyond 24-30" which was not sufficient for my purposes.3. The D-Ring Buckle Lock is huge (4.5" x 2.5") and seemed reasonably strong. However, the glare from the shiny material made it very difficult to see the numbers.

I purchased this to use in Gym, I have purchased another of the same type, this is definitely worth the money. Not just one lock you get two locks at the same price. The other interesting fact is that, the wire is kind of very strong, so planning to use it to tie my bags when I'm flying, as I have at least 3 carry on bags. The bigger lock is definitely wide and can be used for multiple purposes, the smaller one you could probably use it in Gym/ for bags, ..etc. Overall it's a great deal for the money

I am so happy to find this lock. It is made by high quality material. I do not have to worry about the security of my bicycle. The chain is long enough for different situations. The pin is super easy to set up. I can choose whatever 3 digit number I want. This is super convenient. With two locks I can lock my bicycle and other small carry-on at the same time. Hope I could get it earlier.

Keep in mind this isn't the most secure set of locks, but they are extremely inexpensive. That being said, they do as expected. Anybody will a set of bolt cutters (or even a screwdriver for the small lock) is gonna defeat this setup easily. It's more of a visual deterrent. It will stop a snatch and run, but if they are coming with tools you're probably losing the bike as well.
