Smells Like Ireland
I have bought these briquettes twice now.... don't know why I waited so long to buy a second time. I love the smell. Conjures up memories of Ireland. They are Hard and compressed, very tidy, and they burn for hours and give off that subtle Irish Peat smell that you just can't find anywhere else. I don't use them stand alone but rather as an addition to a wood fire. The wood does disguise the smell a bit, but the peat smell, "ah the peat smell" does find it's way into the air. I love them at the lower price. 90 bucks seems like a bit much to me but at 49, for a winter season of that added scent in the air, I think it's worth it. They also burn long and slow and give off a cozy warmth. I'll buy them again next year.

Amazing aroma that takes you back to Ireland.
While vacationing in Ireland this summer, we experienced first-hand the wonderful smell of a peat/turf fire for the first time. We loved the smell of peat so much while we were still vacationing in Ireland that we bought these via Amazon so they would be waiting for us when we got home. We got back from the Emerald Isle anxious to reminisce over our own peat fire and can confirm that, yes, these are definitely authentic peat. They have a wonderful aroma that takes us back to our charming memories of Ireland every time we light a fire with them. The entire neighborhood smells amazing with just a few briquettes on the fire-pit outside. Two thumbs up and highly recommended.Just a note that these are a bit difficult to get lit. It took us a few tries, but you really need to have a small hot fire going or a good bed of coals going before placing the peat into the fire. We found the easiest way to get them burning is by using small to medium kindling to get a good hot fire going. Stack two or more briquettes on the kindling, leaving plenty of room for air. With enough heat, they will light and burn with a bluish flame and a coal-like appearance.

Fantastic
Burns clean along with using REAL wood. Your neighborhood will love for NOT using Duraflame logs.

Reminders of an Irish Pub
This is a terrific product. The smell takes me back to wonderful evenings in the local pub. I use them in an old fashioned wood stove. One brick is a perfect size and burns for a good 2-3 hours. I do need to have a reasonable coal bed before putting the brick on.

Nice Touch of Nostalgia
When I first visited Ireland, lots of houses burned peat, so the aroma was almost everywhere. It's fun to put a couple of briquettes on a wood fire to recreate a bit if that memory here. The aroma is not strong inside the house, but is very detectable outside. These would probably work even better in an outdoor fire ring or chiminea.

Like a bit of Ireland
I bought these as a gift for my husband to provide him the gift of a memorable time he'd spent in an old Irish manor house many years ago. I thought they were a bit pricey, but the peat bricks were super-dense and each one burned for about 2 hours giving the room a lovely Olde World smell.

Perfect product
I so enjoyed these briquettes with my children. It was so lovely to light on a cold wet rainy night huddled in the tent. They made the night magical
