Q: What is the lightfastness rating of these paints? Can I mix them with other acrylic paints, like soft body acrylics?

The lightfastness varies from color to color, but they are generally within ASTM I-II, Excellent and Very Good Lightfastness. You could mix them with other paints, but that will take away from the matte finish.

Q: Can this be used on wood?

I use gessobord for my paintings. Essentially the same thing as wood substrates. Plus, acrylic paints generally do well on wood.

Q: Is this the 12 set? The description says six set but i pushed on the 12 essentials set?

The product photo displayed by Amazon reflects it is the 12 piece set. I purchased the six piece set, the SKU for which is 3699323, a different set identified by means of the difference in SKU. I hope this helps.

Q: Is this truly gouache or a "matte" acrylic? How does it compare to holbein acrylic gouache?

It truly is. Quite honestly, I have used both Holbein and Golden matte acrylics and out of all three, Liquitex has a much better consistency, fluidity, longer working time, and a beautiful velvet matte texture.
