Japanese Watercolor
Kuretake Gansi Tambi watercolor palettes come in a variety of beautiful colors. The pans are quite large and hold a lot of paint. The palettes are held in cardboard boxes and are OK but I wish Kurtake would sell metal palette boxes that would fit the pans. I’d be fine buying them separately. The paint is different than standard professional watercolors but it is very good quality. It is highly granulating and when applied to wet paper moves beautifully and is fun to use. The paint dries nicely too and maintains its color. I’m glad that I added Kurtake to my collection of watercolor paints.

Good Quality Watercolor Paints & Nice Variety of Colors
Very pretty colors in this smaller set. They cover nicely and I have had no complaints about them. I have purchased multiple sets of this brand and really like them.

Great value!
These are gorgeous watercolors! I've been wanting them for ages and finally treated myself to them. While they aren't the usual transparent watercolors, they are rich and vibrant in saturation. A little goes a long way. The pans are large so it's easy to use larger brushes and they'll last a long time. They are a great investment!

Great paints.
The best paints I have used. Just go for the big box of all of them. This organizes all their colors on one small place. I wish I had done that!

I love these paints
I love these paints. wonderful big pans. these paints are not meant to be mixed much. They are not like gouache, some have compared, tough some are opaque. The pans don't have much paint in them. I thought maybe its because the paint is very concentrated. I was surprise to reach the bottom of the pan rather quickly. I love the feel of this paint. great colors, and it's been fun learning how not to mix your own colors, and experimenting with using white. I would love to try the metallic paints. Iv ordered the little six pan set, for travel journal, and outdoor painting, so I will include my opinion on that set later. Im not bothered by the cardboard box. Its lovely and sturdy, with a coating where the pans lay. Im not worried about the box getting soggy. Its a great set for studio use, and a good value compared to other solid Japanese watercolor brands. Id like to be able to get individual colors, because some I use a lot of, and some would last me a long time. It would be wonderful to find refills full to the top of this paint. I gave it four out of five stars because I think the pans should be at least half to three quarters full. I might change that, if I knew there was a good reason for not filling the pans more. I like the big size of the pans. Some pans had a white sort of salt deposit on the top. this is not a problem, and seems to be a natural occurrence with that color. some pans were cracked. you can repair that by adding a few drops of water and the paint will heal as it drys.

I really like the range of colours and how it’s a bit more opaque than normal watercolour

So herrlich leuchtende Farben.
