A Smashing book about a family in World War One Britain
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I could visualize what it must have been like, in London, during the war. It brought back many memories relating to my own Grandma, uncles and aunts, Mum and my Dad, who was in the tanks. He also, like the character Mickey was in Italy, after being in Africa, had similar experiences. It all seemed so real, in this story. The way my mother, as a young girl, with her Aunt's, who were around her age spoke about life in London then. The story of my Gran, getting pregnant by a yank, while her husband was away fighting. The dance halls, jitter bugging and so much more! Well done Pam. I loved this book!

Amazing story
The story of the sparrows of Stamford road was so good that I could actually picture it all and felt as if I new the charactors personally and I was truly sad when I came to the end of the book as I had only been able to read it a chapter or two a day as I am a very busy person and now I will certainly look out for the same authors books top class book.I
