Great story but ending is rushed.
I have to say that I really liked this book a lot until I was all done reading it. It was very well written and had strong characters. The twists and turns were unexpected and shocking. Humor and real emotion are included. You will feel as if you are breathing the same air as Adam Fluke if not inhabiting his body. I don't want to give away the story but it is all going along good when (Bam!) you get poleaxed right along with Mr. Fluke. Tragic happenings and then you get to the very end and you feel as if the final pages are rushed and are lacking the same feeling as the rest of the story. It is worth a read, but you might feel left wanting as I did. I did really like how this story was unpredictable and not your typical romance. I will buy other stories from the same authors and hope they won't wrap it up so quickly. Hope this review helps somebody decide to give the book a chance. I would be curious to know if you agree about the very end or not.

Completely unbelieveable plot but great writing
the author has a great style of writing with none of the wasted words others might use to describe a scene, but I could not swallow the story line. Not the part about how Adam and Sara met and fell in love or how their romance blossomed so quickly [that was what I actually enjoyed], but [* spoiler alert*] how Sara could take one look at him and be drawn to his good looks when he looked exactly like the man who molested her when she was a child. Having never been molested, I cannot attest to the reaction of seeing a mirror image of someone who was my molester, but I am fairly confident it would not be anything romantic in nature. I would love to read something else from David Elliott just because of his eloquent writing, but this book made no sense to me. I gave it 4 stars merely for David Elliott's writing ability, the plot I give 1 star.

A little Flukey!
Adam Fluke is drifting through life delivering pizzas and has no apparent ambitions, that is until he rings the bell at Sara's apartment to deliver a pizza. She asks him to go out with her after his delivery shift and he decides on the way back to the pizza joint to quit his job.Their relationship blossoms and occassionally Sara exhibits some strange trance-like behaviors, but they never discuss what the reason is behind them. One day Adam finds a box of photos secreted in the back of Sara's closet and one of the photos in the collection bears a striking resemblance to Fluke. This raises all sorts of questions in Adam's mind and finally the secrets are exposed. The pair take off on a road trip to try to find out answers as to the identity of the man in the photo and to see if he has something to do with Sara's trances, and why does Adam look so much like him.A good fast-paced read with excellent character development.

Can't turn the page fast enough
Once in a while, I come across a gem of a book and Fluke is one of them. Adam Fluke, a pizza delivery guy makes his final delivery for the day and meets Sara. It started as the classic boy meets girl and they fell in love. They should live happily ever after, right? But, it was not as simple as that for Adam and Sara. An old photograph changes everything for them and they had to travel to Sara's hometown in Texas to find answers.Written in a matter-of-fact voice, which surprisingly turned out to be lyrical, Fluke caught me by surprise. A love story from beginning to end, authors David Elliot and Bart Hopkins threw in several story twists that kept me on the edge. I cannot turn the pages fast enough. Fluke is just a joy to read. This book is rated M for Mature due to the subject matter. There are sex scenes but they are not graphic.***SPOILERS HERE***I have to confess that the ending kept me hanging. I felt as if there was a section of the book that was taken out during editing perhaps because of the page requirements. Then, on second thought, I felt that the ending was perfect. Fans of Guy de Maupassant will understand when I say that the ending is "very French".Yet, as reader (though I'm really a big fan of Guy de Maupassant), I really want to know what happened to Sara, to her mother and Frank. And how did Adam end up living where he was living at the end of the story? I am one of those who needs closure. As it was written, I truly enjoyed the book. And I will read it again and I will recommend for others to read it. But, if David Elliot and Bart Hopkins are listening, maybe, they can write a short story or novella or sequel to the book so that we will know what happened to Sara and of course, how Adam has progressed.

Started strong fell off the cliff at the end.
So not what I was expecting. After I finished the book I went back and reread who the author was. In this case authors. Unless they are pen names the authors are males. There was certainly an interesting view point presented through Adam Fluke the male character of the story. That was refreshing. Adam's self assessment was honest to the point of brutal regarding himself, but loving towards his girlfriend Sara deBeau. The story starts quickly with Adam as an under employed. Under achieving 26 year old college drop out. He meets Sara when he delivers a pizza to her house. They meet and move their relationship forward quickly. Sara is a successful museum curator and the attraction to Adam is due to an incident in her past.My dislikes: the biggest is the ending. I won't ruin it, but think it definitely neded to be more in depth. It felt like a rush at the end trying to make the ends meet. Would have liked more insight into Sara and what she went through. Parts of the story are too strange to be believable.

addictive
This was a lovely read and found it addictive . I laughed quite a few times and kept expecting something to happen . It was a truly enjoyable love story told by Adam Fluke and his feelings for the love of his life . But when finished I found myself feeling really low and down. Dont get me wrong it really is lovely but didnt expect things to turn out as they do . Was quite shocked and surprised as things that happen and what had happened to the characters. But these things make it more believable. Loved it and have recommended to friends to read .

Realistic
The characters are very real and the story moves at a good pace. I felt my emotions go up land down as I read the story and needed to find out what happened. For a short story it was quite readable and I will look out for otherbooks by Bart \Hopkins in the future

The best book I've read in a long time
The best book I've read in a long time. Got this when it was free and I would have happily paid for it. Twists and turns make for an unpredictable read. You will find yourself unable to put this book down! Definitely recommended!

Fluke
This wasn't my usual kind of book, but I really enjoyed it, couldn't put it down. Totally unpredictable (and deep) storyline which just makes you want to read on. I really empathized with the characters and enjoyed both the humorous and extremely sad sections. I was a little disappointed with the ending as it seemed rushed and also quite vague in comparison to the detail included in the majority of the book. However I would recommend.

Okay at best
The story seemed at first to be setting up for something exciting but it never really happened and never got going. I didn't hate it but probably wouldn't read it again.
