Ocean Animals Collection (National Geographic Kids Readers, Levels 1 & 2): Readers That Grow With You

My 2nd grader enjoyed this book. He’s a nonfiction fan and this gave him a lot of information to read about. Great, bright colors as well.

I love reading nonfiction to my son. He is extremely into animals. This is 4 of the readers in one book, so it’s a good price. There is great content and pictures. It is paperback, but still very sturdy.

These books are great for reading and rereading with kids age 4-8. The pictures are just what you'd expect from National Geographic--they are detailed and colorful and eye-catching. The text is appropriate for this age group both in size and complexity. These are high-interest books. Even adults will likely learn a few new facts. Kindergarten/Grade 1 students may be able to read some portions aloud with support. Slightly older students may enjoy this book and others in the series for independent reading.

Delightful and also educational

Our family is a huge fan of the National Geographic Kids books, especially these early reader books. My son is 4.5 and is probably in between level 1 and 2 reading range so these books are perfect for him. The first two he can read pretty well on his own, and the second two we work on together. These books have FULL COLOR PAGES, jokes that my son loves, and new words are defined at the bottom of the pages they appear. What I really love about the collection books is that they are a lot cheaper, especially on sale. Not to mention, less books to keep track of and store. And they're more durable than the individual books.

We ordered all of the books like this. I love that they’re thick and have several types of animals included in each. Plus they have lots of information about each of the animals. My little ones loves reading and listening to these each day. They’re very informative and interesting with lots of pictures for the littles to look at. I would recommend these to anyone with a little one that loves animals (such as mine) And would like to learn more about them. Fun facts, cute little jokes, and great pictures make this the perfect addition to any home library!
