A great, well constructed, premium gyro.
Finally broke down and bought one of these after posting several questions and researching some of the high-end gyro exercisers. This one seemed the best of the bunch--it opens up easily for cleaning and there are replacement parts available from Dynaflex. I did email Dynaflex directly with questions, a couple of times, and my emails were bounced back. Their website is absolute garbage. Neither of these things were terribly confidence inspiring. However, the Amazon community was there and addressed some of my concerns. Based on what I have been told, long term reliability is good and you probably shouldn't need those replacement rings, but it's just nice to know they are available if you need them. The crappy DFX website lists the rings at $3.99, but when you actually click the Buy Now button, they are listed at $12 + S&H. Your purchase includes 1 spare set of rings as well so no rush to buy additional sets.So what do I think about it now that I finally have one? It's great! I spent a few months with a cheapo, plastic, DFX Pro which was purchased from Sports Authority. The DFX Pro is cheaply made and it looks, feels, and sounds that way. In contrast, the Iron Power is made in Germany and is perfectly constructed and balanced. It comes in a nice presentation box as well. There are no unpleasant vibrations, even at high speed, and it is whisper quite. Startup is easy with just a flick of my thumb but I had a lot of practice with the DFX Pro. I highly suggest starting with a cheaper model if you are not sure how to use a gyro exerciser or not sure if you will like one yet. Resistance is higher but so far it is not a night and day difference like I was expecting. I do miss the way the DFX Pro fit my hand, as well as the rubber grip, but that is just personal preference and something I may just have to get use to.I work in software so I am constantly on my keyboard. I have carpel tunnel in both hands but my left hand is particularly bad. So far, I have noticed a marked improvement from using a gyro daily and I hope it only gets better from here. Wrist and hand pain is not as severe or as frequent, but still there. I will continue to use this Iron Power and update this review in a few months.

used dynaflex balls before but...
this product stopped working after 1 day of use (only used it for 15 mins and then put it back in its box. never dropped it or messed with it. now it does not work correctly. i get it spinning with the mini shoelace thing and when i go into the motion it doesnt have ANY resistance and its just "not working". Its sad as hell that the plastic 25 dollar ones work MUCH longer than this 100.00 range one. i'm very disappointed with this product and its maker.

I loved cheaper power ball so I upgraded to Ironball
I loved cheaper power ball so I upgraded to Ironball. I thought it will be the Rolls Royce of gyro ball. I am disappointed. It's not any better than cheaper power ball in terms of enjoyment. It's slippery as well. Only the material is better because it's metal instead of plastic. Stringless start is not doable whereas it easy to start powerball without the use of string.

Isometrics!? Your gonna love this!
This is the best gyro I've even had. Germans don't mess around. This puppy will go up to 16000 rpm and produce 55lb of torque. It is clearly an advanced excersising tool. I would suggest starting with a plastic dynaflex if it is your first. As a pervious owner of many different dynaflex gyros and current owner of this and the dynaflex core trainer 2. I can honestly say that it is a well thought out investment. If you are a serious trainer looking for a serious work out; this is your kind of machine. It does have a few drawbacks. Since it is more dense than most gyros it can be hard to handle at first for a person out of shape. It is completely smooth on the outside which I'm thankful for because the weight transition, although flawlessly smooth thanks to German bearings and stainless steel spokes; lack of training will make it hard to hold for very long with out it slipping out of your hands like a catfish. Please make sure to keep a safe distance between your skin and the opening where the gyro rotates. It's very fast and very heavy. Not a toy for children or anyone who cannot handle a 55lb dumbell. Bottom line is I recommend everyone having this or a product similar. The benefits far out weigh the price. (as low as $20)

Hold On Tight!
I have been plagued by golfers elbow, and tennis elbow for several years. I have been looking for a better remedy than just getting more injections in my elbows to take the pain away. I had a friend who bought a similiar device to prepare for his motorcycle trip to Scotland. He said it worked wonders on his arms hands and forearms. He also has similiar tendonitis issues with his elbows. This device is one of the heaviest available, and the metal casing feels very solid. I gave it 4 stars for only one reason and that is there is now rubberized grip band like there is found on other devices. If you have very wet or sweaty hands you'll have a pretty hard time holding on to this beast once you get it going.I most definitely would recommend it to anyone needing some physical therapy on their joints as i've needed. Or if you're just trying to develop your grip.

It worked for a few hours
Unfortunately shortly after I got it. It began to make a noise. The noise disappeared, but from that point forward there appeared to be too much friction to get it to come up to speed. I am giving it three stars because I perceive it to be useful, and I won't hold what might have been an isolated quality control issue completely against it. I returned it and I almost never return anything, but the price was a deciding issue. I am going to buy another gyro exerciser at some point, because it does what it says I just had some bad luck.

Very solid/heavy gyro (compared to the other options), but ...
Very solid/heavy gyro (compared to the other options), but stopped working after less than a week of use. I keep it next to me in my office and use it for 5-10mins per day. Unfortunately, it completely stopped working, and now have to figure out how to send it back. Stick w/ the plastic versions (like the Dynaflex Sports Pro Plus), which are significantly cheaper and actually have a lifespan of more than 1 week.
