It works surprisingly well
I've used Zippos and teh ubiquitious butane lighters for decades, but the idea of one that relies exclusively on a battery to create a plasma stream was intriguing.I was a bit dubious about whether it would suit my purposes, mainly seeing it as a way to start my Weber charcoal grill, but I found myself pleasantly surprised at just how easily it ignited a small scrap of paper to get the grill going, in fact a bit easier than using a conventional lighter, which really surprised me.It ignites paper instantly, so I'm nowhere near depleting the battery, but I'll speculate that I could probably start the grill at least a hundred times before needing to recharge the batter, which fully charges in under an hour using the included (and universal) micro-USB cable. As for the construction of the lighter itself, it's really rugged, with an overmolded rubberized bright orange outer surface (much easier to see that way) and even a mechanical latch mechanism to ensure that it stays closed. There is also a bit of a seal, so it's a safe bet that incidental water, as from splashes in a boat or during rain, won't get into it.The lanyard with attached whistle is also a nice touch. It's nice to not have to buy fluid or throw away the lighter, only recharging instead now. This is a really cool little gadget.

It's a really good gift, and a money saver.
I gave it this electric lighter as gift to my grandpa, and he likes it so much, better than getting a regular lighter as small store. It's really efficient, good battery life, fast charge, and can stand against the wind from any direction, not like a ordinary lighter, which it blows out, a d you have to refill it by buying a extra gas lighter liquid ( I don't what you call it ) or keep buying more lighter to replace the used up ones. But make sure to look on the angle of the electric lighter, mine have it in the middle, so I can't burn paper to light up the fireplace, so look at the andle of the plasma fire is released or you can't do stuff that you want to do. But good to get and use.

Useful campsite fusion arc usb lighter!
The media could not be loaded. First the price on this was the lowest I’d found for one of these, which is awesome! Second it came very well packaged and could easily be given as a gift, no cheap plastic bag or blister packaging you can’t seem to open, no matter what tool you use! This plasma lighter is very easy to use! Just pop open the o-ring sealed waterproof flip top, push the button, place the object you wish to light in the arc between the electrodes and you have fire! It’s pretty slick! It has a very bright flashlight built into the bottom of it, with what I’d assume is a waterproof push button, and the light will come on in either one of 2 solid light beams at a varying brightness levels or a third flashing beam! Very cool!It also included a handy lanyard for the lighter and a USB charging cord.***A bonus ferro rod and striker were included in the packaging for this as a backup in the event your lighter lost its charge or had an issue and you needed to start a fire in an emergency situation. Thanks for the extra stuff. Can’t wait to break this out at the next bonfire or camp out!Sorry the video is turned. First time shooting one of these and didn’t know I had to shoot in portrait mode:(

Great lighter but not in the cold
Lighter works great when it’s windy out! Would’ve given it five stars but it won’t light when the lighter is cold

If you smoke a pipe, get the one with the extension.
It's great, works out of the box, does what it's advertised to do, just fine. Charges quick. I'd buy the one with extension for use with a pipe or for extra distance from the kindling, when lighting a fire.

LOVE this!
The size is perfect, doesn't feel bulky in my pocket. It's easy to use. I do wish there was a way to detach the cap in order to reach down into a candle. The plasma arc is pretty cool to see. There's something about pushing a button and seeing power that is mesmerizing.I noticed I have to hold it on the paper for a little while in order to start enough flame to maintain itself, otherwise it goes out quickly and leave a nice torch mark. I was able to light dead grass no problem, and even a very thin splinter piece of wood. Fireworks were the same experience-had to hold it for about 2-3 seconds to really ignite the fuse.I ended up having to finally charge it after two months of use. I love that they designed it to take a standard micro usb charger that everyone has laying around the house. I plugged it in and found it fully charged two hours later, so it at least charges that fast (could have been faster, but I didn't check on it earlier). My wife loves using this thing, so I may end up getting another one. Hard to argue when I only paid about $15. I hope this lasts for many, many years. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Lighter weight, smaller size and no physical contact with what im trying to alight.
I cannot yet rate durability since I just got it but having used atomic and tesla type lighters, I can say that it is made with a lot less metal, weights a lot less and seems to work better then the others. I could be that this is because it is new however, I have noticed that the need to make actual contact with the material to be lit is a lot less, which in itself, should keep the lighter cleaner for a longer period of time. Cost comparisons, this one costs less, is smaller in size and is lighter then the others. I chose a bright color as apposed to camo, since dropping a tool into grass in low light does not need to be complicated by the fact that the tool is colored to hide in said grass. This choice fixes that issue so that I can get on with my day.
