Killing Crazy Horse: The Merciless Indian Wars in America (Bill O'Reilly's Killing Series)

THE ABSOLUTE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER PURCHASED !
The Best Book I’ve Ever Read or Listened To. By Far the Very Best. You’re cheating yourself if you don’t purchase & read or listen to this book. Bill O’Reilly really shows you the nobility & the military genius of Crazy Horse, Chief Joseph, Tecumseh, & Cochise. I can’t praise Bill O’Reilly’s latest book “Killing Crazy Horse” enough.

One of the best I’ve read by Bill O’Reilly
I have read all of Bill O’Reilly killing series and everyone gets better than the last.I have to admit Killing Jesus was my favorite, but have loved every one of them.I’m always afraid when I read his latest it might be his last. After reading Killing Crazy Horse and seeing the truth of America’s history it makes me so sad to see what it really is.Far from the movies of Hollywood and how they represent who some of our forefathers really were.I wish some of Bill O’Reilly writings were required reading in our schools so the next generation could realize at what expense America got to were it is today.

Could not put this book down!
Well-researched and written historical account that the schools/universities no longer teach (or at best, just skim over almost as an afterthought). O'Reilly was a history teacher before he went into journalism, and I think that even he himself learned some new information from his research during his process of composing this excellent chapter of AMERICAN history when the Indians were a force to be reckoned with as intelligent, militantly organized and zealous people who were not willing to let their nation get stolen away from them. I couldn't put this book down - a real, old-fashioned, page turner. I found a great respect for the Indians and found myself feeling a little embarrassed how our forefathers treated them in their obsession to take away their land to make it our own.

Best Killing Book So Far
I know it is an overused cliche, but it really is the best to date. I've read all the 'killing' books and this is really a top notch, easy to read and understand book of the series. And, truly the best I have seen on the Indian wars anywhere. Usually, when you read a book on the subject there is some kind of slant, but in true O'Reilly fashion, there is no spin here. From the beginning you begin to realize that the wars are based on one thing: revenge. Each side is always trying to avenge something the other has done. Sadly, the revenge is so total that each battle ends in torture and mutilation on the losers. Indian leaders don't tend to be humanized in these accounts, but O'Reilly accomplishes that. My understanding of the Native American's side of their actions are greatly understood, and the same could be said for the military leaders. The real shame in this war is the effect it had on the real innocents, the women and children, so many deaths that should have been spared. Truly a five star read.

Really Disappointed
I’ve read all of the books in O’Reilly’s Killing series but this one really let me down. The book reads as if it was written by a super liberal reporter with a heavy bias and no desire to paint the full picture. There is little to no explanation given about why Americans battled with the Indians for over 200+ years other than O’Reilly’s repeated claims that it was simply due to the white man’s greed for land. This is a gross oversimplification and there’s no context given to the conflict which blows my mind:-No mention of how the Indians were constantly fighting amongst themselves for land way way before colonists arrived in the New World.-No mention whatsoever about the French & Indian War and how that set the stage for further conflict with Indian tribes.-No mention about how the Spanish, English, & French conspired to ally with the Indians against the USA as they attempted to carve up North America for themselves following the American Revolution.—Anyone whose read a biography on Andrew Jackson will be familiar with the precarious position the US found itself during this period given the threat posed by European powers still vying for territory in North America. The Indians thus posed a real existential threat to the United States during this time period in particular.-No attempt made to pin any blame whatsoever on the Indians for any of the conflicts that broke outDisappointed and not sure if I’ll be buying his next book if it comes out. The last thing our country needs right now is a manifesto about how bad Americans are. Thanks Bill.

Crazy
Book arrived on time and in good condition

Unreadable garbage.
The book reads as fiction, and not because it's entertaining. The author has managed to take a serious historical subject and marginalize it for what he must think is dramatic titillation.

Insightful
I liked hearing about Cochise and CrazyHorse. It was inspiring to hear about the brave actions and wise words of my ancestors. It was sad to hear about all the deaths of my ancestors at the hands of the US government.Books like these give me much insight into how life was like for my ancestors during the Indian wars.

Totally amazing account of history
This book really gives the reader an amazing recount of the history of the settlers and the different Indian tribes and all the events that took place at that time in history.
