Fun, quick little engine builder. You can make incredibly complex economic machines within the system that are so satisfying to run. The real selling point for me is the rotating shop that automatically drops parts back into the box. Love this game!

This game is a wonderful breath of fresh air in the board game world! It’s got an engaging premise - robots are now running the factories, humans are the workers - and offers a perfect blend of strategy and fun. You get to design your own factory floor by purchasing puzzle-piece improvements to the production line and delivery system. This might sound dense but in the hands of the Resonym company, the result is a challenging but whimsical game that everyone can enjoy. In my opinion a truly great game is one where as soon as you finish playing, you want to play again, sure that next time you’ll make the perfect choices to create a flawless factory - and that’s exactly how I feel at the end of every Mechanica game. Trust me: this is a game you’ll pull off your board game shelf to play again and again.

I backed this game on Kickstarter, largely based on how impressed I was with one of their other games I backed previously, Visitor in Blackwood Grove. I loved that game, but I like Mechanica even more! Fun game (even integrating the box itself into gameplay), clever game mechanic, high quality components, great art. I have played a few times and am still learning the best strategies for assembling my factory, so I don't know yet how the game will feel when the "newness factor" wears off. I'll update my review at some point when that happens.
