Overall excellent product great Value for the money
The Hartz UltraGuard Flea & Tick Collar for Dogs and Puppies has been an excellent solution for keeping my furry friend protected from pests. With a 26" neck size, it fits comfortably on my dog, and the adjustable design ensures a snug fit without causing any irritation. One of the standout features is the impressive 7-month protection period, which provides long-lasting peace of mind against fleas and ticks. Since using this collar, I've noticed a significant reduction in pest activity, and my dog seems much more comfortable and itch-free.The collar is easy to put on and doesn't have a strong odor, which is a big plus. It's also water-resistant, so I don't have to worry about removing it during baths or when my dog plays in the rain.Overall, the Hartz UltraGuard Flea & Tick Collar offers reliable protection at an affordable price. It's a convenient and effective way to keep my pet safe from pests, and I highly recommend it to other dog owners!

Works on my 3 dogs for ticks
I have three dogs that I usually buy the flea and tick pills for but I needed something cheaper temporarily. The pills I buy are $25 and last 3 months. The collars weren’t even $4 and are supposed to last for 7-8 months. I honestly wasn’t expecting them to do much but I was pleasantly surprised. We live in the country on a farm where they run around freely. We had been having a horrible issue with ticks. But once the collars were on for over 48 hours I’ve not gotten another tick off them. They didn’t have any fleas before I put the collars on them so I can’t say how they work for fleas. We’ve never had an issue with fleas since we moved here. I haven’t seen even one flea on them even when the pills wore off and ticks were crazy so there must not be any in the area. I did notice that one of my dogs seems to scratch more for a few days after I put the collar on him. But he doesn’t have an issue now. It’s been a couple months since they started wearing the collars and they’re doing so well that I’m thinking this is what we will do for fleas and ticks from now on. As long as they continue to work anyway. If they work for the 7-8 months it says I will have saved around $200. That’s freaking crazy! Even if they don’t work the 7-8 months they’re supposed to, it’s been well worth the money. The only issue I have had with the collars so far is when we first put them in the dogs they kept coming off them. The latch isn’t great. With my lab we tied something around the collar so it couldn’t slip back out the latch because his kept coming off. Probably with help from him. The others stayed in place after putting them back on once. It’s really not the worst problem but annoying because we would have to hunt the collar down. That’s why I gave only 4 stars instead of 5

It REALLY does work!
My dog (a standard yorkie) had a really bad case of fleas during the late summer/early fall of 2024. It was so bad, that she barely had any fur left on her lower back & hind legs from her constant scratching & biting at those areas, due to the flea bites. I tried everything!! I bought Capstar (nitenpyram) oral pills to relieve the itching, I bought Frontline topical drops, I bought Hartz topical drops and I bought this flea collar. And out of all the remedies I had tried to resolve the problem, the flea collar was the one that worked the best. Seems like once I put the collar on her in October 2024, I didn't think about fleas again until this week (last week of January 2025) when I noticed she was beginning to scratch again. So the collar kept her flea free for 5 to 6 months. And during that time all the fur on her lower back & hind legs grew back. So this flea collar really works. I bought the original one from either Family Dollar or Dollar General ( I think it was the latter), and just now purchased the replacement collar from Amazon. Can't wait to put it on her tomorrow, once it's delivered.

Lasted less than a month, my dog chewed it off
My dog just chewed the collar off. It does not appear that any part was swallowed and her behavior so far is normal. (It's been 10 minutes, at the time of writing.) From previous reviews, it appeared that it takes a few days and up to a few weeks for the collar to be effective, so I did not think very much of her still scratching occasionally (and particularly her neck) during the first month of usage, especially since there was no sign of skin irritation. However, today, while I was taking a shower, she chewed the thing off entirely and left all the pieces at the front of her kennel. After a mild freakout and giving her plenty of extra water, I took all the pieces and lined them back up together... at this point, I don't believe she swallowed any of the pieces themselves, but I'm obviously very concerned about her having ingested the chemicals since this brand has been associated with pet death. Right now, I'm just monitoring her behavior, but will obviously be calling my vet today if anything appears amiss. All in all, I will not be purchasing this item again.

No need to pay extra for Seresto. These work just fine.
These keep the ticks off just as well as the expensive Seresto that cost 15x more. I swear by them and we walk in the forest with our dogs.
